One thing has nothing to do with the other, and you know it. The GPL encourages people to incorporate and add to the works of others. It is a license, not a copyright law. If you don't like the GPL, normal copyright terms apply. The GPL is about the source being open (so that others can read/modify/incorporate/add to it), not about stifling creativity. If you want to add GPL to a closed source project and keep the source closed, you have an odd view of stifling creativity, because you equate your creativity with your ability to stifle or otherwise control the creativity of others.
yeah but the upgrade will come in 5 different colors and be half the size of the original version of iDoom. And don't forget, Apple will continue to support users of the original iDoom virus.
This is another hoax people. There is no license and there is no source code. There's just a bunch of letters and numbers built to look like code. The whole thing was faked.
Is there any advantage to fink over darwinports or vice versa? I had fink installed under 10.2 but it stopped working a long time ago and I deleted it. I just installed 10.3; which would be a better choice at this stage of development?
For example, Phish and Dave Matthews Band have been mentioned in some articles as giving their general OK to concert recordings being available on file-share services..... So do they fall into the RIAA's 90%? Or the remaining 10%?
Neither. They're only counting files that people actually want to download.
Analog watches will stay around for exactly the reason mentioned -- they are elegant and intuitive. Sure digital watches can do a lot more, but nobody cares because they look like ass. Wearing a digital watch with teleconferencing and web browsing is one of the surest ways to not get laid that I've heard of in a long time.
Of course, our ancestors who left the plains of East Africa tens of thousands of years ago could well have made the same argument.
Hmmm, and the ones who stayed behind wound up getting kidnapped and enslaved, their natural resources exploited by those who went to Europe. This doesn't bode well for those who remain on earth....
There was a slashdot story about a year ago about a company that wouldn't hire anyone unless they agreed to unethical hypotheticals in the interview. The main example talked about was being able to push a button that would make you some money, but would also kill a third world peasant.
Of course there wasn't, because there was no re-count provision in Florida's state election laws in 2000, and that's how the whole clusterfuck started.
I realize this is a troll, but just to provide the evidence that the poster is wrong, here is the relevant Florida election law. Yes I realize it says 2003 but most of these provisions have not changed since 2000. Florida law did have a manual re-count provision for close elections.

And I lost all the plans. It was going to be a really good terrorist strike too! Now I use a Mac. Apple: bringing you the user-friendly tools you need to exterminate all Jews and Crusaders!"
it really would be a lot stronger if you mentioned how long it takes to copy a 17 megabyte file at your freelance gig.

Are you worried it will crash?

All kidding aside, insecurity is the one feature of Windows where the MacOS lags significantly.
Why would you want to disable that feature of the Mac?
Well, for one thing, I would ask for a CD recorder that is fast enough to make the MP3 worth $30,000!
That's Monday's headline. You must be a slashdot subscriber.
Ummm... I'd be more worried the author quoted him out of context if Theo didn't come off as obnoxious.

Actually, the problem, as the first poster noted, was that they didn't test any Apples at all!

and I for one welcome our sterile overlords!
Great idea! Finally make the earth safe for the rest of us.
Well, my California drivers license expired over a month ago! I guess I got you both beat....

"SCO" was already taken.
The freedom to not own an iPod?

Good God, man, you're right! How have I missed it all these years.... That explains why they chose BSD for the core of OS X too; the logo.
they're still using those same boxes.
