  1. Great comparison but on A Power Users Look at Linux on the Mac · · Score: 1

it really would be a lot stronger if you mentioned how long it takes to copy a 17 megabyte file at your freelance gig.

  2. Re:Sounds like a corny idea in the first place on Backlash as EMI Hunts Down the Grey Album · · Score: 1

One thing has nothing to do with the other, and you know it. The GPL encourages people to incorporate and add to the works of others. It is a license, not a copyright law. If you don't like the GPL, normal copyright terms apply. The GPL is about the source being open (so that others can read/modify/incorporate/add to it), not about stifling creativity. If you want to add GPL to a closed source project and keep the source closed, you have an odd view of stifling creativity, because you equate your creativity with your ability to stifle or otherwise control the creativity of others.

This is another hoax people. There is no license and there is no source code. There's just a bunch of letters and numbers built to look like code. The whole thing was faked.

Is there any advantage to fink over darwinports or vice versa? I had fink installed under 10.2 but it stopped working a long time ago and I deleted it. I just installed 10.3; which would be a better choice at this stage of development?

For example, Phish and Dave Matthews Band have been mentioned in some articles as giving their general OK to concert recordings being available on file-share services..... So do they fall into the RIAA's 90%? Or the remaining 10%?

Neither. They're only counting files that people actually want to download.

  13. Analog Watches on Ten Technologies That Refuse to Die · · Score: 2, Funny

Analog watches will stay around for exactly the reason mentioned -- they are elegant and intuitive. Sure digital watches can do a lot more, but nobody cares because they look like ass. Wearing a digital watch with teleconferencing and web browsing is one of the surest ways to not get laid that I've heard of in a long time.

I realize this is a troll, but just to provide the evidence that the poster is wrong, here is the relevant Florida election law. Yes I realize it says 2003 but most of these provisions have not changed since 2000. Florida law did have a manual re-count provision for close elections.
