    High school taught me that the jocks were invincible (even when they lose), that tenure is more important than competence, and that it's easy to snow HS English teachers with BS.

    The US Dollar is backed by a country with a large army and a lot of nuclear explosives. What do you mean you don't accept it?

    Gold has intrinsic value in the fact that it has high malleability, ductility and is resistant to corrosion. It is also pretty and can be made into jewlery.

    Which makes no sense. People buy iPads for the tablet form factor and portability. If people want a netbook they will flock to the cheaper options that have more features and a real OS.

    Like Windows 7 starter? o_O

    I mean, I agree with all your points except for this one. A lot of folks don't know how to change the OS on a computer

    The point is you don't need to "wipe regularly and reinstall everything" on a non-Windows computer.

    Just select your updates, it will upgrade to the new version without having to uninstall anything.

    Nowadays, you cannot sue for defamation without invoking the Streissand effect.

    There are a lot of idiots who buy a product or service, use it improperly or break it, and then claim it doesn't work and start blogs whining about the fact that the BigBadCorp won't give them a refund.

    I found that a few days after upgrading and it solved some of my problems.

    It should have been installed by default and be accessible by right-clicking on the Unity Panel.

    Count me in for one that hated the ribbon at first, and then came to like it.

    As I mentioned before, we are all in the "They changed it, therefore it sucks" phase with Ubuntu Unity.

    The real complaint is "They changed it! So now it sucks!" just like any other UI change ever made, be it the Ribbon in MS Office, or the KDE 4 debacle.

    I actually like Unity, but I would appreciate a few more configuration options (accessible through a right click on the panel, maybe?)

    I have had "conversations" with people coming back to Mexico after living years in the US... poor fellows, their Spanish is incomprehensible and their English sounds like a racist joke.

    Pochos have really developed their own pidgin language :S

    I saw the same screen, and thought that $2 US dollars per year were affordable enough, even for me in the third world.

    And the permissions needed by it are comparable to other instant messaging apps.

    Blackberry messenger was, until a few months ago THE ultimate social network for yuppie kids in Mexico, but WhatsApp has been replacing it almost everywhere.

    A lot of kids still love their Blackberries, though (the Curve is the favorite model, by far)
