    Being a christian is not an excuse to being a meddlesome jerk. If anything, a good christian is respectful of other people's views and preaches not with words, but by leading an exemplary life.

    One of the things I hate the most about your "precious 2nd amendment" is that it allows gun merchants to sell guns (after a minimal background check) to Mexican drug lords.

    The vast majority of the weapons seized from the drug cartels here in Mexico were legally purchased in the USA

    It could probably be argued that internet based file trading actually reduces the income of these gangs. The profit is all about being the middle-man.

    True that. Here in Mexico City you can find bootleg CDs and DVDs that are manufactured in mass quantities and distributed to people selling them on flea markets and on Metro trains.

    There are definite links between the bootleg CD/DVD mass-producers and other areas of organized crime, but the poor shmucks selling them on the street are just trying to eke out a living selling a proven, cheap product.

    Profits from ads served to people downloading movies from the web is much smaller and much less likely to fund real crimes.

    I have to point it out: dumb people do not DESERVE to be taken advantage of by smart people. Social Darwinism is an inherently fascist, evil, and anti-social philosophy that destroys societies and people's lives. Don't subscribe to it. Society works because of trust, and social Darwinism destroys that trust.

    Here in my country software piracy is not even considered weird anymore.
    It is not unusual for small computer hardware vendors to ask you what software would you like in your box and they will get it for you.

    Sometimes they don't even ask. My last computer (advertised as the "multimedia and graphic design model") came preinstalled with copies of the latest adobe and autocad software, msoffice and norton antivirus.

    (Of course, I erased everything and installed Ubuntu) 0:)
