Your math is just plain wrong. If you calculate usage for a 30 day month, 24/7, at full 1mbps speed then you would top out at 324 GB which is well above your 250 GB cap.
Did you even go and look at the site? This guy did not know they would definitely want this domain, he wanted to start a site that was for discussion of the economics behind a bid for the Olympics. He's a student at a very good business school and that seems like a perfectly reasonable site for him to have created. Just because you think he wanted it for no good reason doesn't make it so.
NO, not at all. The loss of the API's will not stop you from transferring files off of an android phone. I'm sure you will be able to email, ftp, or move them in 10 different ways through the wifi, 3G, or USB connections to any computer you want.
The IM is also not gone, just the API is delayed. I'm sorry that your friends wont get automatic IM's from all your programs, you might have to take the time to type something out. The Horror!
Except with WoW you did not have to buy the game just to get into the open beta! Having an "open" beta where only pre-orders can play is absolute crap. The Warhammer people must think we are all idiots that will fall in line for their idea of open. I hope they go down in flames with every other designer who thinks they can redefine words to promote their game.
Have you actually looked at the demo videos available online. I would say they definitely live up to and possibly exceed the hype. Notice this article says SOME of the phones may be delayed. They don't mention the HTC dream that has been expected as the first android phone for quite some time. That article is purposefully vague so people start talking about Google not living up to expectations. Seems like worthless rumor mongering to me.
I'm not doubting in any way that there is proof they have violated the cease and desist. I think that sounds like something Media Sentry would gladly do for the RIAA, but when I click on the irrefutable proof link in the summary I don't see any proof. When I went go the "Exhibits (Cease & desist order, printouts)*" link, I can see the cease and desist order and some printouts labeled from early 2007 but nothing from 2008? Could someone point me in the right direction for the evidence? Thanks.
I'm sorry to say this, but none of these will work. The OCZ version and every other version that is coming out anytime soon (i.e. next 10 years or more) will make the power glove look good. The sophistication we have in recording and analyzing EEG is no where near ready and that is when we use setups in labs that cost 10's of thousands of dollars. The subjects still need to stand completely still and even eye blinks will give you major artifact. The EEG you will get from the sub par recording electrodes hooked up to kids that will be moving around is not going to allow for any meaningful kind of control.
I say all this with authority because I have been conducting research in the field of EEG for more than 5 years and I am very familiar with the level of technology and what can be done with it. I have published 6 peer-reviewed papers on the subject.
Some of the congressmen think that he's making it too easy for the cable companies to make money by relaxing ownership rules and eliminating the a la carte initiative. While some other members think he's making it too hard for them to spoof customer packets and interfere with any and all traffic that they feel like. No matter if he goes easy or hard on them, it seems like someone is going to want his head. I kinda feel bad for him, then again I agree with the guys that question the a la carte reversal.
That was my first reaction as well, until I read the urban dictionary definition for YGTBKM and it noted that it's a popular term with the military. At least the navy, anyway. Then I decided it was probably his honest response to that question. Sorta like my first though was, "no f'in way he's going to post a list of no holds barred computer systems."
which would net the developer much closer to 100% of the proceeds. Sounds like a rather cushy deal for Apple to monopolize something else. When you want to buy some software for another PDA, the company that made the PDA generally doesn't take 30%.
That can't be the complete story because they were about to unveil a new intel version of the OLPC's XO at CES. This would have led to more chip sales and yet they chose to sabotage their partners and ruin the chance to have intel chips sold with the OLPC campaign. This really sucks, I was considering an intel chip for my next computer as they have definitely outpaced AMD, but now I need to consider whether I want to do business with such a company. Maybe a few less instructions per cycle is worth it to support AMD when they can play nice with charitable causes and do some good in the world.
Does this mean they are going to come out with some addon storage because the internal storage for the Wii is already lacking just from saved games and retro game downloads? Couple that with not being able to load games from the SD cards and I see huge issues with squeezing my DS games in there.
The US government issued a statement blasting several map publication houses today. Warning them that they are knowingly aiding murderers to find the way to their victims. President Bush himself told the press he was disappointed in the democratic congress for not enacting tougher regulations on these obviously criminal activities.
I have to be really skeptical when I see this kind of report. Research has suggested that the way the brain functions to produce speech is not like typing out words into a computer. Things are probably not grouped by the similarities in their letters or pronunciation. They are most likely stored by a particular hierarchy that may or may not vary widely across individuals depending mainly on environment. Noise also becomes a huge issue, having the electrodes inside the brain cuts down on that problem but it would still require places of little or no EM interference. Out in the world we don't offer many places like that. Additionally, you would need to do some sort of heroic measure of training for each individual who was to use this device as the signals for every word they may want to saw would need to be mapped and adequately distinguished from other words and brain activity.
I don't "allow" or "not allow" mutations in this area versus another area. It's just that mutations in other areas cause such a significant defect in the virus that it can not function and therefore no clones are created to carry on that mutation.
It's very similar to the metaphor about the thermos. How does it know to keep cold things cold and hot things hot. It doesn't, it just know, it just does.
At first I thought this was a joke post...
More about Brazil:
9) The Brazilian media constantly emphasizes violent events in Brazilian cities. However, the murder rate in Rio de Janeiro was, the last time I checked, about two-thirds of the murder rate in the U.S. capital city, Washington, D.C. The murder rate in Rio de Janeiro is about 60 per 100,000 people and the rate in Washington DC is about 35 per 100,000 people so you really need to work on keeping up to date if you plan to make claims like this.
10) Brazil is the music appreciation capital of the world. Brazilians have all the styles of their own music, and those of other countries, too. What does this even mean. Every kind of music can be found in many many places in the US. Does that make us the music appreciation capital too? Is there some kind of international body that decides these things? I googled but came up with nothing so I'm left to assume you are just pulling things out of thin air cause they sound good.
11) Several years ago the most popular local band in Portland, Oregon was Rubberneck. On an average night they would draw an audience of 40. A local band in a small town in Brazil drew an audience of 800. There is going to be a lot more choices for entertainment in a place like Portland as compared to a small town in Brazil. This will lead to less people at any one show but not necessarily less going to enjoy a show. This is a weak argument that tries to make parallels where none should be made.
12) Brazilians often know all the lyrics to numerous Brazilian songs. WTF does this mean?!? Please find a country that has music with lyrics and doesn't have people who know numerous of the songs. Then, maybe, this point would be worth typing out.
13) There is a magazine about Brazil called Brazzil, based in Los Angeles,USA. That's good. We probably have magazines for the majority of country in the world.
14) Brazilians are often very socially skilled. Wow, I bet they eat and sleep like normal people as well but you forgot to list it.
15) Brazil is approximately as large as the continental United States. It's not a lot but since Brazil is 200,000 square miles smaller I wouldn't say it's the same size. I also wouldn't use total land mass as the best measurement. How about productivity / population?
Suggesting that tons of people bought the Wii and have never even used it is a really awful assumption. While it's true some people will buy it and use it less often than other's that's not to say it will sit in a box collecting dust. I got the Wii on launch day and my girlfriend and I have gone through periods where we use the Wii and lot and then periods when we dont play for a while. It has more to do with our jobs then a lack of interest. Some of the games we most want to play have not even come out yet. Regardless, the Wii does not have some special characteristic that will make people lose interest and not buy games for it any more that they would for the PS3 or Xbox 360.
I'm pretty sure you are misunderstanding the meaning of "despite." Generally, what follows is information that refutes something. So basically, the sentence means that the Mario Kart news IS something for the hardcore gamers. At least that is how I read it.
Before you go off on someone please RTFA! She had a lump of playdough in her hand and that is clearly stated by the officer quoted in the article.
Here's the quote: "She said it was a piece of art and she wanted to stand out on career day," Pare said. "She was holding what was later found to be playdough."
Aside from you missing the info in the article, your argument doesn't hold water as is. Even if they thought the putty was paint on her shirt, they have every right to be concerned. I seem to remember a man with explosives that looked like the heel of a shoe.
I played a long time ago so maybe my memory is going bad but I don't remember any PvP. How did the gilsellers kill other players for being in the area? I remember trying to camp for those really nice boots (never actually got them due to my latency) but the high level campers just seemed to ignore us.
This already happens for quite a few diseases. Look at Stem Cells Inc. and their work with Batten's Disease. These children are going to die if nothing is done so they are doing approved trial with them. The problem with using the people who are most ill is that sometimes they die before you get all the information you need from the trial. Trials are expensive and time consuming already so that's a pretty big negative to overcome.
I was in the closed beta, certainly not as early as the double digits (I never even saw a counter), but I don't remember any gold farming during beta. What would even be the point. No one was selling gold on ebay or anywhere else at that time. There were definately crashes, bug, and exploits but compared to some other games I have tested like Shadowbane and Planetside it was pretty smooth.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Wii-fit and Duck hunt.

Woops, was supposed to be "It doesn't" in the beginning of the first sentence.

No, because the store already admitted that was a mistake and are honoring the warranty.
