I just bought one of these things, Pocket Famicom (Gametech), along with the NES adaptor. I bought it because I also have old NES games but no functioning NES, and you can hook it up to a TV and attach NES controllers to it. It actually works pretty well, even as a portable.
Let me tell you how it will be;
There's one for you, nineteen for me.
'Cause I'm the taxman,
Yeah, I'm the taxman.
Should five per cent appear too small,
Be thankful I don't take it all.
'Cause I'm the taxman,
Yeah, I'm the taxman.

Taxman!

Um... the warehouse ending? I've never seen that one, though I knew it was there. That's what you get for making deals with the Cammarilla...
deathmarches are now common rather than a sign of poor project management or cluess PHBs.
Actually, I still think deathmarches are a sign of poor product management and clueless PHBs. It's just that poor product management and clueless PHBs are the norm now.
heard stories of pre-1980s-boom-and-crash Japan, where a failing company's president would give everything he had back into the company to keep it going as long as possible...and if it wouldn't work, he'd split the cash from his shares, pay, etc. among the employees. This was in return for the lifetime loyalty you gave to the company.
Isao Okawa, deceased president of SEGA, did that as recently as 2001.
Actually, the problem with that is that David Grossman's arguments about video games have been that they are bad because they are used by the military. Therefore, more widely documented use of video games by the official military and by soldiers tends to reinforce his points, if you agree with his central premise. I don't personally agree with it, but the people on the pro-censorship side of the video game debate like to use it.

It seems that Alienware is still marketing ApeXtreme type systems:
Well, I myself thought it was a wash when they named it the "SciFi" channel. I know this is a hoary old dispute, but people who grew up with literary science fiction groan and wither when people use that term. It's "Science Fiction", or SF; "Sci-Fi" is a term used by marketing people.
Sci-Fi originated with Forest J. Ackerman, see his bio.
It's all you really need to know about the term. He calls his house the Ackermansion...
King basically disowned it and then later used his clout with ABC to get it remade, his way, as a miniseries. He did not like Kubrick's version at all...
The ABC version will never be considered the classic the Kubrik version is...
In Dawn of War which is a RTS from Relic not affiliated with EA, if you
play as Chaos you can put your builder units on Forced Labor.
If you leave them on Forced Labor they die, but that's OK, you can always get
more builder units.
I like the way that each sides built in tactics get you into the mindset of that
side. In this case, an Aspiring Champion from the Chaos side would make a good
middle manager at EA.
Of course, in this case, by getting people used to listening to lower quality music, the RIAA was shooting itself in the foot, right?
So, the RIAA, to combat piracy ought to bring back vinyl and tout its products as "high quality" as opposed to "junk" digital music. (This is not far-fetched, it's the way the movie houses compete with TV.) It's the way CDs compete with radio (combined with audio tape), after all, you don't have to worry about signal interference ruining your listening experience.
I hope they follow this suggestion, I'm afraid I might have to replace my linear tracking turntable one of these days and they'll have stopped making replacements because everything has gone digital.
Ok, I've never used Napster but I'm wondering what it is exactly. Is it just a method of trading MP3s or is it a central server with an administrator function. I mean, there are free MP3s out there that are legitimately free, I downloaded one just yesterday:
Perhaps all Napster would need to comply with the law is to spot check the Mp3s on their server and remove ones which are illegal? Would that make them more like Freshmeat?
I mean is Napster a product or more of a server, like Freshmeat? I think servers can be held responsible if they hold pirated content. On the other hand if Napster is just a tool that allows an individual to set up her own MP3 server, then I don't think they should be prosecutable for that (but the people running the servers could be).
I think a lot of men feel that way, they'd rather socialize with women than with other men. (Of course, some women who have trouble getting along with other women feel the same way about men. Think of Elaine from Seinfeld.)
I think that it is wrong though to think that men are more savage than women, though. It's just a different kind of savageness. Women can be more subtle and vindictive and sometimes seem to think more long term about revenge.
Of course, that may be seen as High School behaviour too, just the female version. Perhaps the anonymity of the Internet takes away the feelings of adult fears and responsibility and turns everyone back into the kind of person they were in High School?

They both have April Fool's stuff on the main page, but you can still get to the capsules.

I used Hymn to remove DRM from some songs so I could move them to an older model Creative MP3 player. It seemed to work fine for me.

How perceptive of you to pick up on it. Did you win a lot of spelling bees in grade school?
Of course, now you've crushed my lifelong ambition to be a world's champion speller.
Of course, logging in as AC protects you the next time you use a fictional character for everything, but also proves you are a low grade moron.
