if you read on the "whitehouse ad" is an anti-drug ad. That is hardly a controversial topic, nor is it political. The whitehouse will score no points for it. Im sure there are people who will be offended by an anti-drug ad becasue you can't please everyone. It is the same as leftists being angry at corporate ads during the suprebowl.

you're kidding right? move on is almost a wing of the democratic party. go look at their site. There is no need to inject politics into something people just want to enjoy. I think CBS made the right decision. give it a rest.
I wake up in the middle of the night crying.. knowing that i use photoshop, dreamweaver, office and many other wonderfull programs on my unix box. I feel horrible that my favorite OS is supported by hardware manufacturers and works seamlessly with windows PCs but i dont have all the issues of a windows user..
alot of people here are saying this gives a bad name to the linux community etc. While they are partially right, the fact it, it reveals alot about the linux community. Compare the number of "yay! i wan that on my PC" posts to the "this is bad.. its immature" posts. I think this virus is really dumb. Interestingly enough it will probably help SCO making the nice rotten apples visible on top. Great job asshole, who ever you are.

actually in micrsofts defense, i have a Pocket PC (compaq aero ) machine that i have been using since 2001.. thats about 3 years of uptime. Everything works.
Ignoring al lot of the BS that people have to say about microsoft, their hand held OS is great. Mostly becsaue they regualry break binary compatability and tailor it tohardware.
I think every CS major already knows about this. We have been doing it here at my school for year now. Wonderful apps like Moss do agreat job of finding people who have stolen other people's work

To write free software and not have this problem at all. It is the one that I use for my projects on sourceforge. In two words : BSD licence. that is truly free software and you dont have to worry about things like this.
