Well, a couple of weeks ago, I tried to install Rhapsody DR2 on an x86 box and also using an emulator. Unfortunately, I couldn't get started since the CD isn't bootable and the filesystem isn't ISO9660. Does anyone know where I can get floppy images? Thanks in advance.
When you're referring to hard drives, it's disk. When referring to CDs or other removable media, it's disc except when referring to floppies in which case it's diskette. FYI, there isn't a "discette" - yet
If you live in North America, you must have been in seclusion to not know what the issues are/were and where the candidates stood. In any case, you can easily google for the relevant info.
I wish Kerry hadn't conceded; after the Gore cop-out 4 years ago, I was hoping that the Democrats would stick it out to the end, win or lose.
I think there are 3 reasons Kerry lost: first,he didn't connect with Hispanic voters; second, the youth vote, which heavily favored up didn't show up in sufficient numbers and finally, that message from Osama bin Laden may have helped to turn the undecided towards the incumbent President.
One can only hope that the Replubicans won't screw things up too badly before the next election but that is a lot to hope for ( or against). Where Bush will leave his mark will be on the Supreme Court - it's likely that, with perhaps 4 Justices set to step down, the highest court in the land will be shifted very far towards the right.
That's what gets me about the conservative Republican - they only value life when it suits them. For all the talk about faith-based initiatives, they conveniently forget that the Bible says, in no uncertain terms: THOU SHALT NOT KILL
It's been a long time since I read the Bible but I don't think it gave any outs to that Commandment.
The Iraqi insurgents aren't doing too badly against the might of the US military. And they are being subjected to airstrikes, which is much more problematic in a Civil War.
Ah, I get it now. Windows' famed instability ( although much improved since Y2K) was a design decision to alert the user to the prescence of intrusions.
I don't think that this attitude of "America first" will change under the leadership of George W. Bush. Perhaps, if Kerry gets elected today, that might change.

If you look at the history of the Nobel prizes in Physiology and Medicine, I think you'll find that Americans don't have anywhere near a monopoly on medical discoveries.

Allow me to clarify something for you that you are obviously not objective enough - you are much worse than racist, you are a xenophobe in the very worse sense of the word. What I mean is that you essentially see different races as being less than human. I infer that from your remark "the cuckoo's young". Let's not forget that despite the radical differences in human physiognomy, from pygmies and other similar small people to the 6ft plus peoples of West Africa and parts of Europe, we can all interbreed. And, while it's not universally true, the mixed-race children are usually quite healthy and beautiful. It is unreasonable to expect someone to like or appreciate every human being, culture or creed but you appear to be severely lacking in tolerance and open-mindedness.
Although I guess that conservation alone wouldn't have been able to solve the water supply problems of a metropolis the size of NYC, I wonder if the man-in-the-street has ever stopped to consider the cost ( in dollars alone) of NOT conserving resources - while you still have plenty of them.
I wonder what Las Vegas ( the Meadows - oh, the irony) will do to stave of the coming crunch as its water resources are outstripped by its growth rate.
C'mon people - typing the keywords "north pole ice melting sea level" into Google got a ton of answers to the question, the very first link of which was

Could we please stop rewarding those who are too lazy to look stuff up ? It's one thing for someone to say " I read this article about warming and melting ice; does anyone have an opinion?" but this poster was just lazy.
One wonders about your own knowledge of US laws. Many laws are not universal - in the state of Nevada, a casino is free to bar or expel ANY patron for ANY reason. Violation of this ban is subject to charges of criminal trespassing.
I dispute this. It would depend on the type of language. I don't think that everyone is capable of mastery of just any programming language. I suspect there are those who have a natural affinity for procedural, functional or object-oriented.
Also, I'd say that anyone who's been programming extensively in a particular language or a particular kind of language would probably have difficulty switching than a more inexperienced programmer.
No human being is capable of doing everything. By your standards, only those who have equal or superior skills would have the right to criticize.
That is essentially an elitist attitude. Something that I've noticed about people is that those who use that argument to silence criticism are frequently trying to cover up corruption or incompetence.
Not that your reasoning is totally invalid but neither can it be used as a blanket dismissal of those who point out that something can or could have been done better.
There are two myths that M$ are trying to keep alive: 1.) that they are innovative and would be more so if those pesky regulators/litigators would just get out of the way.
2.) that the only reason they have security problems is simply because of their market share.
I haven't made up my mind about Lomborg's statistics but providing safe water supplies to Africa and Asia won't be as easy as it sounds, especially in Africa.
Political instability and wars there have destroyed repeated attempts to build better infrastructure over several decades.
Also, the cost of doing business in many of those countries is magnified by who has to be paid off and whether agreements with those in power will be honored in the long term. Tens of billions of dollars in aid have been siphoned off over the years by one dictator or another.
Much I'd like to believe you, there are far too many examples of civil wars to trust that the military wouldn't hesitate to fire on citizens just because they grew up in the same country.
The problem is that people in authority don't like to have that authority challenged or threatened. I know far too many people who've been beaten by cops for mouthing off or not backing down, and , in most cases, those cops were locals. Don't you really think that a military unit from a different part of the country wouldn't be able to fire a few shots at citizens especially if said citizens were armed? You have much more faith than I.
Your .sig says: "In a free country, TV stations do not get a 500000 dollar fine for showing a naked breast"
Not only that but the breast in question wasn't even naked.

Shown to be safe by whom? Since companies have been known to lie about test results with drugs, why should they be trusted with food?
(See Vioxx).
If a food is shown to be unsafe several years down the road, the potential number of people affected could be enormous.

I built myself a dual-proc system in '98 using an MSI 6114 board. I'd never heard of MSI before but the board was a good deal so I took the chance.
It turned out to be the best $149 CDN I've spent on computer parts. The board's been rock-solid for 6 years, even when overclocked.
If they still make boards of that quality, I'll definitely be looking at one of their products again.

This does NOT apply in Atlantic City.
It's only a misquote if your source of wisdom is George W. Bush.
If so, God help you.
