  1. Re:The BIOX process on The Physics of the Hydrogen Economy · · Score: 1

I wasn't aware of that but a little digging found that is was probably the only bright spot in the American Jobs Creation Act 2004.

President Bush's environmental record is so poor that he's made it easy for future presidents to appear green. On the other hand, if they want to outdo him, they'd pretty much have to rape the country in order to impress anyone.

Nice try. The definition of "tantamount" includes the word EQUIVALENT - which means "equal" or "the same as".

In other words, YOU believe this to be rape, which is fine - that's your opinion but the "rather pathetic attempt at a strawman argument" falls squarely on your shoulders as you are using doublespeak to couch your meaning.

If you believe this to be rape, say so and don't backpedal.

  3. The BIOX process on The Physics of the Hydrogen Economy · · Score: 1

This company http://www.bioxcorp.com/ uses a process, developed at the University of Toronto that
they claim can produce BioDiesel much faster than previous methods and is price-competitive with petroleum diesel.

I hope that they will start licensing their technology soon - this could be just the kickstart needed expanded use of BioDiesel in North America.
It would be nice to see more auto manufacturers selling diesel passenger cars here and promoting the use of Biodiesel.
While refiners have a mandate to reduce the sulfur content of petro-diesel within the next few years,
these reductions can be achieved TODAY using Biodiesel blends.

Also, it was President Bush's promotion of his Hydrogen initiative that really drove home the fact that he either has NO concern for environmental concerns or he just doesn't get it.

The US has provided us with a huge number of immigrants and that's likely to increase, at least for the next 4 years. And a great number of them don't speak either English or French - they speak American ;)
I would like to point out that, according to the CIA World Factbook, Canada's net migration per 1000 inhabitants is much higher than Americas: 3.41 (US) vs 5.96(CA).

Having got the major chunk of the marketshare, they now have time to fix it. This is a longstanding M$ tactic ( probably used by many other companies in many industries ) and, if you're profit-driven, it's a smart move, despite what you or I may think of it.
That is: get the business FIRST, fix the problems LATER.
Lesson learned? I doubt it; for them, it doesn't make sense to do things any other way. The most that can be expected is that their design process and bugfix methods improve.
