My Asus N56VJ running Ubuntu 14.04 suspends almost perfectly. The only time I have seen it fail is if Wine is up running Picasa which block suspend for some reason. Suspending takes about five seconds, on restore it will be up on the login screen by the time I get the display open.
I'm using one to power an Arduino project. All the parts you need for a battery supply are there, charger, voltage converter, battery cell, connectors. You can't make one for the price of one you can buy.
Maybe they can figure out why my C-Max makes a loud tone out the speakers when the engine is at exactly 2380 RPM. This car has an Active Noise Cancellation processor with several microphones and it is going berserk. Some Fusions get the same oscillation.
Apparently Ford decided it was cheaper to put in a DSP than to add sound insulation.
Tried them, hated them, set them aside. Could not even maintain focus across a single line of newspaper column. If simple fixed readers work, just use a 15 dollar pair from the drug store. I have found drug store glasses vary quite a bit in quality though so shop around.
That said, complain to the optometrist, they may be able to remake the lenses with a physically larger reading area. They might not charge you for it if you are truly dissatisfied with what you got.
My brother in law died of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in Wisconsin. They said he could have been infected up to 20 years earlier, it hangs around until it flares up.
Trust me, it is NOT a good way to go. Similar to death from Alzheimers, but only takes about a month. Mys ister had a hard finding someone to take the body, noone wanted to touch it.

I actually subscribed to the DDJ just to read the Verity Stob column. Of course by the time the issues started arriving she had quit DDJ.

Did it vote Republican?

They could have just called my wife.
Oh, they'll take care of it.

And sometimes it goes wrong. Like my C-Max

And all this time I thought it was Frankenmuth.
Or Louisiana. Or Virginia.
Maybe there's a 12 step program...
If there was EVER a vehicle that could use regenerative brakes, it is a garbage truck. Also the post office truck or whatever that thing is.
What happens when some beer drinking redneck puts a bullet through one of those batteries?
Somebody try this on a Raspberry Pi!

I would suggest getting an Arduino. There's tons and tons of example code out there at all levels of expertise. And it's fun.
Well, I have a six month old C-Max with keyless start and they told me to replace the key fob is over $300.
You have to agree though, it's one step closer to Psychohistory.
Ha! Couldn't agree more.
Can you imagine where America would be today if all those man hours spent obsessing over Baseball were instead spent doing something productive?
I was out for a walk this week, and watched a garbage truck make his rounds. If anything needs regenerative brakes, it's a garbage truck.
Streaming is completely useless on a DSL line. I copy my DVDs to an SD card. You can get a lot of video on a 32G card.
It is now clear that Quarks are sentient beings. This disproves the existance of God. Bill Nye is correct.
I have a generation 6 Ipod and AFIK, nobody has broken the encryption du jour Apple uses to transfer files to it.
Cellular phone networks are hugely over subscribed. In a large scale emergency like a hurricane when everybody is calling, they become useless.
