I used to joke about my WoW "addiction," then I heard some sociologist guy made a serious argument about the analogies between virtual and real addictions. Much of my obsession with the game really was a kind of addiction, which became really evident after trying to "quit for good" about 2-3 times. Sure, it wasn't as serious as huffing on a crack pipe, but WoW can be addictive. Here's the great thing about quitting. All the little things I would neglect get taken care of. That fan with the loose blade, no more unfolded laundry or dishes piling up until I'm out of forks, having time to work out since I'm not burning a couple hours after work.
I apply this rule to video games in general that I've recently given up. While they're fun diversions, they insidiously eat away and even your life after a while.
From what I've seen of the corporate world, these decisions are made by two groups of competing bullshit artists who've worked their way up to command decisions. One is trying to sell you a product that may or may not do what you need and the other is trying to low ball you *regardless* of what the sticker price is. Management needs to either promote more techies to these levels or put them in places where they can make *real* feedback on the process.
Obviously a planted message from Australian Socialists to turn us red-blooded, ass-kicking Americans into a European nanny state of effeminate intellectuals. We don't need your Alps-bred book-learning here!
After watching my friend's girlfriend busting her ass waiting tables trying to get a break as an actress, these kinds of marketing-inspired hires have come to really annoy me.
Because for the last 5 years, they've had Fox News drumming it into their heads that these poor people were a bunch of ignorant dumbasses for "choosing" to live somewhere where hurricanes might hit them.
You do realize that New Orleans is the port city at the mouth of the most important river in our country, right? The city isn't just there so you can get plastered once a year. It has strategic, economic, and commercial importance.
They used to be #1 and relevant. But, then Fox went Right and MSNBC went Left, and they found themselves in the middle grasping for an identity. The problem is CNN abandoned legitimate news coverage long ago to become the entertainment news channel. They even had a prime time all-entertainment news show. I'm a real-news junkie and I've tried recently to watch CNN, but I just can't stomach the constant Britney Spears/Angelina Jolie social life updates. They gambled that they'd pick up the idiot demographic by going this route and all they've done is alienate their base. Good luck, maybe they'll have more success with a format change like The Nashville Network?
Yes and no. Whenever you have a bubble, it takes some impetus for it to burst. The drag of oil prices caused the pop, but it didn't cause the bubble. That's like saying a drunk driver wrecked because he was thirsty.
In her defense, it's because movie producers are more interested in showcasing her grade A ass than her acting chops. Hot actresses usually have to deal with a different kind of typecasting (the no-talent hacks like Megan Fox don't mind). Watch a neat, little film of hers called "London." I've heard that the Illusionist (name?) was good, too.
Unfortunately, budgets are a lot more complicated than gross outlays. There are future commitments and income you have to consider as well. And, please stop calling every fiscal policy you don't like a "Ponzi scheme."
Your secret plans for foreign industrial domination have now come to fruition. Now, let's help you keep the financial industry deregulated as well so we can completely destroy our country.
This post should be modded funny. So, by your analysis any array of binary content has no value? I'm sure you'll get tons of modding from the rest of the Slashdotters out there who download software, music, and movies for free rather than paying the programmers, artists, and producers who created them. Just don't start crying about quality when fewer people are willing to take risks creating this "valueless" content that you love to download so much.

How's a telekinetic, zombie-ass kicking clone going to help you get into orbit?
Relax, Gloria (Steinem). I was talking about teenagers.
What, science?
That or throw a mop in their direction. I guarantee they'll scatter to the four corners.

Be serious, China can't even manufacture a car that won't disintegrate on impact.
Something tells me he's a CoS plant, hmmmmm...
...when even meteor showers are moving to China!
We're predicting 20 to 30 meteors per hour over the Americas, and as many as 200 to 300 per hour over Asia
I was being charged a monthly subscription to a porn site that I had no clue about. At least, that's what I told my girlfriend when she saw the bill.

Congratulations, not everyone else is so lucky. Especially those in rural communities where the nature of their lives requires a lot of travel.

I think it was during their anti-monopoly case that it came out they hadn't paid taxes in something like 3 of 4 years.
I bet you're one of those jerks who started haggling on the $1.50 ceramic frog from my last yard sale.

Is there a theoretical limit?
