The PS3 for the most part is a fine machine. To say they don't give a rat's ass about the consumers is a huge generalization. The whole 2.4 patch was due to feedback from PS3 users. Most large companies have problems with keeping high standards throughout. While Sony is not the same as they used to be, they still have good products out there.
There's two things that may be going on here, it might be sold by Amazon and drop shipped by their distributer...in this case it should still fall under their shipping rates... but the way Amazon works, you might not actually be buying from Amazon at all. Usually below the item they will tell you if you're purchasing from some one else, in those situations you get charged shipping based on whoever it is you're buying from.
When buying, just make sure you buy from Amazon, and you shouldn't have a problem with getting billed shipping from 6 different vendors...
Sony probably won't implement something like this as it seems that downloaded content is the future. Xbox Live, Nintendo Online, Sony's online component are probably all test beds for the future development of digital distribution like how Steam distributes it. That way each game is locked to an account (registering the console online?). Probably not this generation of consoles, but the next generation... and possibly how all software will be distributed.
But WoW cost $15/month! I think if you tried to spend $15/month on Date quest, you'll be grinding a lot more then 8 hours a night...not on the date... You could go for the sure fire 100% crit rate but that would probably be at least a half a year's worth of WoW!
Inflation for the GC doesn't look right, $100 adjusted for inflation when the other consoles only went up between $30-40 in roughly the same time. Just thought I'd point that out...
The best interfaces shouldn't require you to "get used to it" You should just look and know what to do next quickly.
I personally think the Opera browser's interface is a bit cluttered out the box.. at least the last version I used. Firefox has it's flaws, but i'm content with it overall as it fits all my needs.
Yahoo has that capability. I Used to use all of them, but overall now I like Yahoo's feature set. One thing that's bad is the client is pretty bloated compared to other clients like trillian.
You can usually find HD quality shows using bittorrent with commercials stripped out. I think this is a good idea for those who don't, 99c is pretty cheap and effort free if you missed your fav show and didnt have it recorded. Definitely a market there I think.
It is an inconvenience unless they find another way to protect their IP. What it sounds like from his response was that the investors who paid money to produce this product wanted this in as a requirement. I don't think they like it either, but if it's a decision between making the game and having some DRM or not making it at all.. i'd choose for making the game.
the dollar isn't just accepted in the US, it's also accepted all over the world for the most part. if you try to take an old 20 or old 100, hell even if it's the new large face $100's, if they aren't 1999 or above they won't accept it due to forgery. Lesson learned when traveling to bali and trying to exchange some cash to spend. all we had were 1996 $100's and they wouldn't take them. i would imagine that counterfeit money is a bigger problem outside the states as making them is easier there outside of US jurisdiction.
I think you said it yourself, your approaching middle age and you just don't see what MTV has to offer. I don't think middle age folks are the target audience that MTV tries to attract, although you grew up with it, MTV hasn't, it will always market to the younger teen folks and apparently, they don't really care as much about music videos but prefer the shows that MTV puts on since that seems to be what's selling these days...

PS: I updated with no problems.

I don't think any guy is going to have problems with getting tired with that.
