    Seriously, tho... remember when Xerox and Kleenex got their panties in a bunch insisting their names weren't generic? Has anyone tried registering one or the other and arguing that it's a generic term? ie, 'Hand me a kleenex' or 'go Xerox my arse'?

    What have your biggest problems been with fighting the misconceptions that free (as in freedom) software is not, as Microsoft seems to have all the media outlets trained to believe, free (as in beer) software? What changes in the media need to occur to help make this line more distinct?

    According to the Yahoo story, Code Red was named after a soft drink prefered by programmers...

    Excuse me? The Code Red drink hasn't been around long enough to be prefered by programmers... don't you think it's far more likely to say that 'Code Red' was chosen simply to make people think it's more dangeous than it really is?

    They also blame the thing on the Chinese... sure, if a virus made to doS the White House puts text saying 'Hacked By Chinese' on your screen, you're going to believe it? Just like all those guys on Counter-Strike servers a few months ago talking about Wang Wei were really Chinese, too...

    Journalists are so -gullible- when they're trying trying to start a panic...

    Messages that are easy to understand... nice idea, but I don't think the human race is into this. Can you think of one person in your life who uses simple-to-understand messages beyond "Hot dog? Buck fifty, pal"? We're born knowing that we cry about anything that's bad... being able to communicate anything more than "I'm unhappy" requires a lot more complication that just "Whaaaaaaaah!"

    Still, it's a good idea in theory. It'll just be a lot like learning a new langauge, a whole new way to communicate. If it can work.

    Screw it. I'm not paying more than two hundred for a video card. Anyone who'd shell out six hundred for one of these is insane. You can get another box for that much, pre-rebate.

    Okay... the density and mass stay the same (This assumes gravity hasn't increased to keep weight the same for less mass). But the quarter has 'shrunk'. This implies less volume. Unless the quarter has grown thicker to compensate for the smaller diameter, how the hell can the coin's density not change?

    Along with the internal speaker, does it have a line-out or headphone jack? 'cause then just combine it with a paid of those monitor-in-your-glasses, speakers-in-your-ears headsets, and you could get a few looks watching movies on a plane or whatever...

    Hrm. Needs a good portable keyboard, too... what's the smallest keyboard available these days?
