When car manufacturers find a design problem that might cause accidents, they usually recall all cars that may have the problem, despite its huge costs.
I'll assume you haven't seen Fight Club. Watch it and come back to the thread.
I found myself watching movies just to get rid of them, much like how you have to eat all the food at a restaurant, even if you are full. I felt like I was obligated to watch what I'd queued, so I'd better spend two hours before sending it back. It's no surprise that watching a movie because you feel you have to is not very satisfying.
I agree with the movie/music analogy. From the article, change this:
The irony is that the amazing tools, capabilities and quality of the new systems may very well doom what is most important, which is the game itself.
To this: The irony is that the amazing tools, capabilities and quality of the CGI may very well doom what is most important, which is the storytelling itself.
Sounds familiar, but people still go in flocks to see movies devoid of innovation or creativity. Still, there are plenty of movies that offer the opposite experience. They make less money, but often cost less money because they don't require explosions to draw in the crowds. The same can be said for video games. A good game is a good game no matter if I can see pores on a character. Let the big publishers chase their own tail, it's what they do.
Obviously these guys are trying to break the rules. When it comes to entertainment, porn has to do it first. FIRST Zero-G porn movies, THEN sports. Duh...
Now if anyone tries to require such a card in the US we can simply accuse them of being France-like and it'll never get approved. I knew 'freedom fries' would come in handy one day.
The iTMS lost my credits. I signed up and entered my codes, but didn't opt to download at that time. The next time I went to the store, I had to do another confirmation of my info, etc. When I was done and properly logged in the credits were gone. I'd of course thrown the caps away since then.
Sure it was 5 out of 100 million, but how many others didn't get redeemed because of a snafu?
I agree that the most striking thing was how much more dark and quiet it was that night. Just black as a closet. I took a short drive around town and so few people were outside, no street lights, and few drivers. It was something I'll always remember and yet hope to never experience again unless I choose to partake.
Isn't the industry already using the "create an album" idea with the "Now That's What I Call Music" series of CDs and others like them? They are released shortly after the collection of songs have run the charts or peaked and practically all volumes have hit the Top 10 of album sales if not No. 1.
They must have found that the public isn't likely to buy all those albums, so instead of making nothing, they are going to squeeze as much as possible out of the songs.
Using the words artist integrity and RIAA in the same sentence should have resulted in the posting be labeled "funny" not insightful.
Does this mean that "The Real Slim Shady" was licensed in the spot with the annoying kid singing it, but not the one using "Lose Yourself?" I seem to remember seeing the earlier a lot, but not the latter.
If this is the case, then someone REALLY dropped the ball.
I agree. I think it was on at least three different nights, finally ending up on Thursday where it (big surprise) died. They'll probably do something similar and put it on Friday at 9pm where it will last a few weeks, being allowed low numbers because no one watches tv on Friday, and be pulled by the following sweeps period.
I'd have thought Comedy Central (contracts aside) could have picked it up. Maybe it was budget reasons, but I see FG as a great match with South Park or most of their other 10pm shows.
My viewing slowed the last few years and I don't think I watched any shows this year, until the final one. I figured they'd wrap things up, reveal some news, secrets, something, and leave a nice little hole for another movie in a few years. Instead it was 2 hours of crap.
The whole first hour could have been condensed into 15 minutes and the second into 10. An hour and a half was wasted on beating a dead horse and filling screen time with useless chatter. It was about as interesting as the last Seinfeld was funny.
Lexx's final episode a few weeks ago blew it away.
If what this guy says is true, a stock tumble by Bill and the boys, could have a large impact on the market. An interesting read even if 1/2 of it is true.
Doesn't Valve releasing FIVE high-quality games in a single box at a reasonable price lend a little credence to the argument that PC Gaming is dead?
I'm sure this will have a ripple effect on cash-strapped media player makers. MicroSoft will certainly scrap the Zune after this.

Shouldn't be which group has the most voters? And I mean in the country, not in Congress.
Only if we lived in a true democracy, which we don't. It's a representative one.

I thought they killed this idea back in Singles. Damn you Cameron Crowe!
reach Monster Island? I hear Godzilla is a big pron freak.
when they pry my fingers from my cold dead hand.

Plus, if you add 2+0+2+9 = 13! We're doomed!
I'm sure someone got a promotion for this great idea.
Thanks for Toast. I hope Sonic keeps up the good work.
La Cienega? No way. Kid Rock would represent the "D" and be found on the median of Woodward or Gratiot.

If they can show that Caridi knew anything about what Sprague was doing, you can throw in Conspiracy charges for both as well.
