    Oh because apple doesn't embrace propritary sorenson codecs or fairplay. At least all of reals propriatry formats will run on open systems (Linux, BSD.) I don't see Apple porting the necessary quicktime frame work to play Sorenson encoded or fairplay DRMed files.

    The thing that bothers me about PHP is that it is Free... unless you want it to run fast. Even the "free" Zend Optimizer is closed source. It makes me wonder if optimizing patches to the Zend Engine (PHP Engine) would be rejected because they compete with Zend's buisness model. I know Zend doesn't owe me anything, but the fact that fast PHP is not free should weighed properly when evelauting solutions.

    In Ascian, eiscOn, and eiskoti the s sound comes before the K sound. No metathesis as far as I can tell.

    As much as I applaud Gnumeric for their great implementation, it's still a Linux/Unix only implementation. PlanMaker and OO are both cross-platform for those who can't ditch Windows. If a user can't leave Windows behind, that places Gnumeric out of the running.

    I never wrote about microsoft making patches availible or not availible, the article says that you can't download windows security fixes without a valid CD key period. I do see the links on the micrsoft page so in this case the article is wrong. But either way Red Hat has not refused updates to those who don't pay for RHN, which was what i was arguing before.

    RedHat does provide free updates for everyone, you just have to use ftp if you aren't on RHN or aren't using apt/yum.

    They AP classes we're GPL if you got them alone but they also shipped with the case study which was eventually GPL'd and therefore they were GPL'd.

    It'll be fine for mom and pop situations if they get a system designed for linux. The computer manufacturers will include sound cards that are supported. Hardware manufacturers will be forced to write drivers if they want to be shipped in such systems. It's that simple.

    No one forced you to support 2.96, you have the option not to support redhat at all or to target egcs 1.1.2 the compiler on redhat 6 which was also included in redhat 7 which would provide compatibility for both versions.

    If nobody (including Linus, mind you, in the case of gcc 2.96) wants to use the compiler or adjust to its peculiarities, they're hurting the community.

    Which is why they included the compiler from the previous release for compatability, like I said above.
