> For all of its shortcomings, the Windows graphical system is EXCELLENT for consistency between the OS and all applications that use the native widgets.
And isn't it funny how Microsoft Office doesn't use native widgets.
Oh because apple doesn't embrace propritary sorenson codecs or fairplay. At least all of reals propriatry formats will run on open systems (Linux, BSD.) I don't see Apple porting the necessary quicktime frame work to play Sorenson encoded or fairplay DRMed files.
The thing that bothers me about PHP is that it is Free... unless you want it to run fast. Even the "free" Zend Optimizer is closed source. It makes me wonder if optimizing patches to the Zend Engine (PHP Engine) would be rejected because they compete with Zend's buisness model. I know Zend doesn't owe me anything, but the fact that fast PHP is not free should weighed properly when evelauting solutions.
Ask: Etymology: Middle English, from Old English Ascian; akin to Old High German eiscOn to ask, Lithuanian eiskoti to seek, Sanskrit icchati he seeks (From M-W.com)
In Ascian, eiscOn, and eiskoti the s sound comes before the K sound. No metathesis as far as I can tell.
As much as I applaud Gnumeric for their great implementation, it's still a Linux/Unix only implementation. PlanMaker and OO are both cross-platform for those who can't ditch Windows. If a user can't leave Windows behind, that places Gnumeric out of the running.
> Oh, you won't hear anything from moore about Comrade Clinton. He's a saint in the eyes of the left.
Then, you clearly haven't read Stupid White Men.
Unfortunately Amazon won't let us search inside of that book.
But from Dude, Where's My Country:
p27: "During one of their visits there, in May 1998, two Taliban members-this time in the U.S. sponsored by Clinton's State Department-took in some more sites"
Backmatter: "If you'd like to know more about the forty-seven people President Clinton had 'killed,' simply check your favorite Internet search engine and type in the words, 'Clinton Body Count.'"
> There's (unfortunately) more to the RIAA than Britney and NSYNC. They own pretty much everyone worth listening to.
What about Motion City Soundtrack, (some of) Bad Religion, Death Cab, The Postal Service, NoFX, Pennywise, Freezepop, The Shins, Pretty Girls Make Graves, and the Decendants. Head on over to fatwreck.com epitaph.com subpop.com or matadorrecords.com I'm sure you can find at least one band worth listening to on each of those labels.
KODAK is doing awful though. Just look at tehir 5 year stock chart. I live in Rochester, NY and there is a news story every month or so about what a mess Kodak is.
I never wrote about microsoft making patches availible or not availible, the article says that you can't download windows security fixes without a valid CD key period. I do see the links on the micrsoft page so in this case the article is wrong. But either way Red Hat has not refused updates to those who don't pay for RHN, which was what i was arguing before.
Java is too many different things, it gets confusing. Java is a desktop, A VM, and a programing language. At least icrosoft had the brains to give Windows,.Net, and C# different names.
It'll be fine for mom and pop situations if they get a system designed for linux. The computer manufacturers will include sound cards that are supported. Hardware manufacturers will be forced to write drivers if they want to be shipped in such systems. It's that simple.
No one forced you to support 2.96, you have the option not to support redhat at all or to target egcs 1.1.2 the compiler on redhat 6 which was also included in redhat 7 which would provide compatibility for both versions.
If nobody (including Linus, mind you, in the case of gcc 2.96) wants to use the compiler or adjust to its peculiarities, they're hurting the community.
Which is why they included the compiler from the previous release for compatability, like I said above.
Whoops my bad, I was thinking about something else
> what if I don't *want* my color palette tacked on to my toolbar?
Then I suggest you drag and drop

Vagrant Records is not indie.

Gnumeric 1.4 with Windows support is just around the corner. Abiword List post by Jody

There's more in Stupid White Men.
Then why didn't the geniuses at Microsoft turn that on by default? I don't want to crawl behind the computer twice before I can update.

Parent is a troll.
RedHat does provide free updates for everyone, you just have to use ftp if you aren't on RHN or aren't using apt/yum.
They AP classes we're GPL if you got them alone but they also shipped with the case study which was eventually GPL'd and therefore they were GPL'd.
Java is too many different things, it gets confusing. Java is a desktop, A VM, and a programing language. At least icrosoft had the brains to give Windows, .Net, and C# different names.
Then I take it you've never done any assembly programming?
I hate to break it you buddy but's that's not funny at all because i2 isn't that fast especially with all the traffic running on it now.
I've never understood why you use a for loop for something like that and not a "while (1)". Can someone clue me in?
> Any media player can play iTunes Store music using the QuickTime API. All you have to do is write a plugin to interface with QuickTime.
Too bad they only implement the QuickTime API on Mac and Windows

How does their compiler choice hurt any other member of the "community?"
