  1. not at all on Amazon to Sell Books by Page, Display Books You Own · · Score: 1

Amazon.com is undoubtedly doing this with the permission of the publishers. The publishers are obviously fans of Amazon.com and probably trust them - whats good for Amazon is good for the publishers and vice versa.

That wasn't the case with mp3.com and the record industry, mp3.com didn't sell any RIAA music.

Not /that/ vast. I mean, if it actually costed $200,000 USD to build a plant to power 200,000 people... (or even 5x that for the "vastly different" labor and part costs) just think how cheap our power would be.

  3. too good to be true on Floating Nuclear Power Station · · Score: 1

Yea, it is awfully amazing that a nuclear power plant is $200,000. You can't even get a shack in Mountain View, CA for $200,000. This has to be to good to be true. Or its not $200,000 USD, but some other measure (there's 28 rubles to the USD, so thats not the case).

He couldn't sense either. He should've walked in and been like "who knocked you up?" before Padmé could have even started to talk. We are talking about suppoesedly one of the most powerful Jedi's here.

  11. annoyed most: Jedi's unable to sense twins on Review: Star Wars Episode III · · Score: 1

I'm not often the kind of person to be annoyed by holes in a movie while I'm watching it. More often, I reflect back and notice them. However, while watching the movie, why the hell Anakin isn't able to sense Padme's pregnancy before she says so; he's obviously surprised. And they always refer to 'the baby.' He's able to sense when Luke is in the same star system in the original trilogy, but not that there are twins? Give me a break!

  13. because of politics on Crack Found in Shuttle Tank · · Score: 1

A program as large the space shuttle has inertia. Certainly the ISS has plenty of inertia, what with international agreements being involved. Really, I wish they just let the thing burn and we'll forget it ever happened. Its just a money drain - though I suppose I should be happy they're supporting our dear military-industrial complex in a peaceful manner.

While I do think the ISS and the space shuttle probably have brought us engineering know-how, the only actual science I've ever heard of it bringing us is from the Hubble Space Telescope, and that is set to burn in 2008. Lets leave the Earths orbit to private companies.

  15. BBC science programming on Sources of Intelligent Audio for Commute? · · Score: 1

Yea, you could use mplayer or streamripper to download various BBC shows. I really enjoy their science programming, just go to the http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 and click on science. They often have various specials (right now, they have a special on Freud) and regular programming where scientists discuss their research. Like NPR's Science Friday without the annoying people calling in.
