  2. Fragmenting and such... on First Non-Latin TLDs Go Online Today · · Score: 5, Insightful

Ridiculous tribalism, that's all it is. Fragmentation of the Internet to appease some regressive, regional e-peenery is the stupidest idea to date. I speak 8 languages and love some, like Russian immensely, but the internet is a nation with its own language, and that language is Standard English. I call shenanigans on anything else being shoehorned into its basic infrastructure!

Seems, IMHO, to be retarding progress. If folks would just put the stupid anthropomorphism on the back burner, we could already have a wealth of useful robotics in the home. But, noooooooooo, they all gotta look like C3P0 or we're doomed....

Well, Obama's first appointment, Sotomayor, was another corporate-friendly judge, so we can expect the same from his next appointment. Which, with Bush appointments gives the court a solid ant-citizen/pro-corporate majority. Expect more confirmation of corporate abominations like the DMCA and ACTA.

Try 70, from last year alone. And, really, is anyone going to roll out the trope that the police would have actually used a firearm on these people if it wasn't for their electrocution compliance devices?

  10. VS2010 & DW on Something For (Almost) Every Developer · · Score: 1

Visual Studio 2010 is a very nice step in the right direction, it's much better than previous versions. That said, Dreamweaver CS5 is the first step in a true IDE from Adobe and rocks hard for the huge amount of Wordpress development I do.

Agreed with the reply above. I waited for the iPad announcement before I made a decision on a tablet. When the iPad dissapointed me, I went and bought the Asus T91MT with Win7 and it's touch and multi-touch interface is excellent. 3 USB, 2 CF expansion slots, VGA plug, full keyboard, Wifi, Bluetooth. 32G SSD. Couldn't be happier and it cost me $400.
