This looks like a product targeting soldiers to provide them some reality+ in the lens (threats, escape routes, blueprints, language translator, FoF id, remote video....). Probably they already have some of them....I would consider it interesting if there is a medical use to it. (help to people with blind issues).

And of course, the process to register it should be FREE. If you as a John Doe develop something new, it's obscene to pay $20.000 to protect it...

Companies will not be able to avoid taxes using the "IP fee" to subsidiaries in fiscal paradises anymore....there is so much money involved, I don't think this abolition would prosper...

Locked phones should be illegal. If you want a new fancy shmancy phone, pay it!. Several companies in Europe treat the phone and the service as different items in the invoice. You are BUYING the phone in installments and paying for the service. If you want to change companies, you just finish your contract (you may have to pay early termination fees) and you change companies, but you are still invoiced for the phone.
The "pay as you go" users are the ones paying the higher prices in comms, allowing the spoiled teenagers and young consumers get their last gadgets.
When there are regulations, the concept of free market is just an illusion...
Piracy is not about sharing data....is about making profit from it.
The "legal" frame is another issue....because companies according their own interests make the law....
The best way to combat piracy is to charge us$2 per downloaded movie/music album.
I think things would be much more independent if people is just elected by national lottery numbers....

I remember when I had to study hard, I had to read 3 or 4 textbooks at the same time at the library...I think a tablet will not be suitable for that environment. Also, a the backlight makes my eyes sore after 30 mins....
I think tablets are great devices for other things (vacations, road warriors, doctors, marketing, POS) , but not for education per-se....maybe for edu-tainment....

We do. I think the big issue here is how to avoid politicians be approached by corporations to vote in their favor. The REAL democracy can only exist when no funding is needed to create and maintain a political party.

So...if the FBI had access to the data, then the data could have been modified.
So this makes all hard drives' data accessed by the fbi not useful for a trial.....right?

I would like to know how many people agree in paying tax dollars to an agency to sneak private data just for a private company benefit. Well... like Irak/Afganistan "war"...use tax dollars through the army, navy, cia, etc... to protect private companies assets...that's a good investment!! So, I would like to introduce a Bill to force govt forces to buy ammo and gear ONLY from govt factories, so the money is not washed..I mean, spent on private corporations.
Also, all weapons and bullets in private hands must be confiscated and destroyed, because they could be used for crime or robbery. The law enforcer could seize and arrest any weapon holder without a warrant (special cases, of course).
And if you sell bullets on line using a.com web site, that web site will be shut down with a nice banner from the FBI and DHS. Maybe you could still have access using the IP instead.
Oh..and every voip and skype conversation must be recorded at the ISP for at least 4 years. Just in case. Of course, the "cost" of this will be paid by the user....without any tax relief...we are in a deep economic crisis now!...so, keep working 50hs/week, no raise, less benefits....remember? we are in deep economic recession...so...I will go to play golf with my friends just for 6 hours....I finish my job here.
