The first example is most definitely a business model, just an overly conservative one. They may not have much money to do market research to see if anyone outside the original target market would buy the shows, so they don't bother. Japan operates in a far more perverse and self-fulfilling way, by keeping the market small by keeping the prices up which keeps the market small...ad infinitum. Or absurdum, take your pick:)
In the US, it's far more likely that the studio has sold exclusive syndication rights at home but not abroad, hence the non-availability of domestic DVDs for shows. I mean, even Cartoon Network had Dexter's Lab DVDs out in Australia for years before they came any where near Region 1. Again, it's a business model like any other, just not a simplistic one.
The Earthscraper, designed by BNKR Arquitectura, is the Skyscraper’s antagonist in the historic urban landscape of Mexico City where the latter is condemned and the preservation of the built environment is the paramount ambition. It preserves the iconic presence of the city square and the existing hierarchy of the buildings that surround it.
WTF?! My god, it sounds like a teenager who found his first thesaurus.
Fujifilm, Canon and Panasonic all make fine point & shoot cameras that will get you decent results without too much futzing about with the settings.
I recommend going to a proper camera store and playing around with them for a bit to see which interface(s) you prefer, and buying that one. Don't get too caught up in megapixel numbers or video resolution specs, concentrate on the one you think you'll actually use.
And lets not forget how reliable and predictable it is. A nuclear reactor is certain to output a set amount of energy in a certain configuration no matter what. Not a single one of these "renewable" sources are capable of that. None of the current replacement suggestions are worth it.
Tell that to the folks running the Hydro dams at Niagara Falls.
The point of TFA is that the book was pulled after one or two complaints based on an unedited preview version of the book and website, NOT the final version that was going to be sold in the stores! The author took out the "objectionable" material for the final version.
It's about as stupid as all the FCC complaints sent in en masse by religious groups who never watch the shows they're supposedly objecting to.
Portal 2 for $10? Dang, I knew I forgot to check something yesterday, that was it. Time to see if they'll do the same around Christmas, I have a week off and a need to get my game on:)
A lot of early DVD players had this too, and it still mean the studios putting out shitty 4:3 versions of films with no possibility of getting proper original aspect ratio versions later.
Tobacco consumption in Ontario went down when increased taxes lead to high per-pack costs. The Feds cut their portion, resulting in cheaper smokes, and increased consumption. Stricter laws about not smoking indoors also brought about decreased consumption. Most smokers cut down, but they didn't quit.
I've used an external FireWire burner on my MBP for a few years, because it's faster and far more reliable than the built-in one. I can also use it on my Mini when I need to burn stuff from that machine too. I don't remember the last time I used the actual optical drive inside my MBP.
When I was in China a few years ago, one of the local beers proudly had "Contains no formaldehyde!" or similar on the label. Makes you wonder at the ones that didn't;)

But were they Rose-scented glasses? This is important!

Dang, beat me to the link! I was just reading that :) I totally agree with your recommendations.

Article was obviously written by a new parent.
Eagerly awaiting the arrival of the nearest GSV,

A Blueberry that's been told twice.

Hey! Stop all the radioing!
Eight light minutes, actually.

it's like a taint for the mind!
Import them from the US, then.

The US Government was described as a "three ring circus," I think the EU would take more than 2 minutes to describe!

There's a Toronto in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota, and one in NSW. :)
Nah, I'm good.
I for one welcome our new stone wall making overlords!
Well, son, all you need to be is willing to do it. And I'm willing to do it! Plus, I have quiet shoes...
Well, Mandrake, you're a good officer, and you have the right to know. I've been pissing in your soup for weeks.
