The ONLY thing I've seen Office do better than Open Office is macros. I'm a huge D&D nerd, and HeroForge won't work with Open Office.
But that's a very specific thing, and other than that I haven't come across anything, so I just don't sue HeroForge. That isn't accurate of the general population I'm sure, and others may find faults with Open Office that I haven't, but that's just my personal experience.
Both parts would be made "using the latest camera and stereo technology to create a high quality, comfortable viewing experience", the studios said.
If you read the article, nowhere does it actually say the movie will be in 3D. The closest it comes is saying "There had also been speculation that the two part film would be shot in 3-D." and "Weta Digital in Wellington was heavily involved in 3-D visual effects for James Cameron's Avatar and is also working in 3-D for the first Tintin film, directed by Steven Spielberg."
Judging from the quote above, that sounds like a generic "we don't know yet if it's gonna be in 3D" PR statement. Unless there's an article where the director/producer/someone who knows actually says "Yes, it will be in 3D", then I'll take this with a grain of sand.
On one side, computer nerds, not ordinary people. On the other side, spooks and profiteers who tell us that "privacy doesn't matter". In the middle are the people who like farms and mafias and whatnot.
If more people know/cared about their privacy being constantly probed, there would be more of an uproar, and it wouldn't be as profitable to gather such information. But most people don't understand how it works.
Profit drives innovation, so we'll see where things stand in a few years.
Yes, because Google gives the phones away for free...wait, that doesn't sound right. You obviously have no idea how open source works. I'm writing this on my Linux-based OS, which (for what I need, non-gaming) I can assure you is every bit as good (and more secure) than your Windows OS, and I didn't pay a cent for it.

That's why I'm considering buying the Logitech one. After that PS3 Linux fiasco, they aren't getting my money that easily. The Logitech version comes with a keyboard that I prefer anyways.
Maybe that just means they aren't as good at it as the people who found it? I mean, I don't have the equipment to view it, but I also cannot see it. Doesn't mean it isn't there.
Best Buy is refusing sell a PS3 unless people pay for the upgrade.
Wow, I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of this policy. Probably because it doesn't exist.
You can purchase a PS3 without an upgrade for $300.00 OR, you can purchase a 'firmware upgraded' PS3 for $329.98. They aren't MAKING you buy anything.
They're offering you a service. Mind you, it isn't a good service, but it is a service nonetheless.
If Sony releases a new firmware at 5pm, does anyone really expect a PS3 bought at Best Buy to be up to date at 5:30?
If you buy it at 5:30, yes. You seem to be under the conclusion that best buy opens EVERY PS3 that comes in their store and upgrades it, when that isn't the case. When you buy equipment at bestbuy, they'll offer to upgrade it for you, similar to how when you purchase a laptop at best buy, they'll offer to 'uninstall all the antivirus offers, etc. that the manufacturers install'.
Wow, you're dense. People pay doctors so much because they have the skill to know what to do, and what not to do to fix a problem. I mean, are you gonna give your computer to your grandmother to fix it? She knows how to double click the browser, but she may not have the experience to know that installing executables from her emails are bad. I mean...
Lots of ways. Some of them actually aren't the user's fault, and out of his hands. The most common way to screw it up is power loss during the upgrade.

You're right. You're Anonymity however, makes you're post seem trollish, and/or offtopic. If you're going to post like that, you might want to uncheck you're AC tickbox. Wouldn't want to cheat karma, would we?
At any rate, I applaud Mexico for this. The more countries that do this, the more ACTA isn't looking so good.
And even if that were the case, I'd be willing to bet if Best Buy screwed up your PS3, they'd replace it right then. Nobody would be okay with waiting weeks for their PS3 to come back because of someone else's mistake.
It's like going to a doctor for something that turns out to be very simple, and charging you an assload of money. He isn't charging you for saving your life, he's charging you for the expertise of NOT making it worse or killing you.
If Best Buy screws up your firmware, it's a safe bet they'll replace it. If you screw it up, you have a paperweight. Some people might think that's worth $30.
Everyone who ever appears in any commercial photo isn't a public figure. Plus, let's say you did something that awesome, and some washed up singer named Vagia made the photo of that an album cover.
Well crap...there goes my afternoon.

Is it sad that those little characters on the side didn't make me think of Final Fantasy, but 8-Bit Theatre instead?

You can't make a movie out of that, that's boring! Boring doesn't make the news, scary does!
I for one, welcome our new robot babysitter overlords.

Yes, I used it. You assume that everyone who uses something visits a forum? I used the product and I was happy with it, no forum required.

I'd file this one under the No Shit category.
This isn't limited to Sony.
Pushing firmware updates that remove an advertised feature is a common practice then?
I'd rather be kept in the dark with newer updates, then being forced to update the firmware in a manner that cripples the device.
Screw you Sony.

Yeah, but I don't see the hardcore gaming nerds that are going to buy this thing getting too many phone calls.
Stupid movie.
I've never seen a major blockbuster movie where everyone agrees, "That's exactly how it works in real life!"
Movies are stupid. They're fantasy, an escape from reality. That's how they work.
This just in: New class of malware will pre-fetch tech buzzwords so that you think the article is interesting.

if it's covered by warranty
Because everyone's PS3 is still under warranty.
And even if that were the case, I'd be willing to bet if Best Buy screwed up your PS3, they'd replace it right then. Nobody would be okay with waiting weeks for their PS3 to come back because of someone else's mistake.
