    Wouldn't it just be easier for Sony & Universal to lobby the government for speaker licensing? People, after taking a test of course, and showing proper government approved ID, will be issued speakers which will allow them to "hear" an "analog" version of the song in "audio" format.
    Then, people accused of copyright infringement can have their license revoked. anyone with unlicensed speakers will face jail time of 10-25 years.

    oh wait... that's their OTHER plan.

    I have a strict policy for people who do this to my wife and I. They get told *last* if they get told at all from that point on until we receive an apology. This applies to parents, siblings, and everyone else. I have no time for anyone who thinks they "deserve" priority in how I disclose facts about my life.

    Dear friend "sjbe (173966)". I am upset that you didn't notify me first about this policy... I had to hear about it via Slashdot and I'm sitting here crying and wondering what I did to sjbe (173966) to deserve this awful treatment.

    By that guy's standards, we are all "quiche eaters." Not a single one of us uses an 029 keypunch to enter Fortran any more.

    Pascal was, and is, a good teaching language.

    Perhaps not, but I still weekly use a paper tape to bootstrap an old PDP-11 to play games.

    Passwords are so 1990. I realize that it requires a little extra work, but those RSA-type key fobs that have the little LCD that displays a new "passcode" every minute should be universal by now... I love those things.
    Banks should issue them to everyone, employers should issue them to everyone...
    C'mon this technology has been in active use for at least 15 years now...it should be cheap and everyone should use it.
