on a side note, how are you enjoying teaching in korea? I was a korean native until 1986 (came over here when I was 6).
I've always wanted to go back to korea for an year or two to make a living there, but decided I had to work in the tech sector. Now that the S. Korean government is switching to linux, do you think many linux admin jobs will open? Tempting...
One other "barrier to entry" for this linux switch, is that starcraft and gunbound don't natively run on linux:)
I like that idea, but seeing as how much Google's ad system is being spammed these days, the system probably wouldn't last long, with competitors blocking out each other's pages with bots and if it comes down to it, trained monkeys clicking away at a terminal.
it was the best of times, it was the blorst of times? you stupid monkey!
if($question=="Is your dick a micro machine?"&&$answer=~ m/"^y.*"/i) {
die "Oh, so it really *is* that small\n"; } else
{ die "Then it's not the real thing!\n"; }
Don't forget the "You Got Mail!" guy from AOL - he settled for a very (relatively) small one-time fee. Can you imagine how rich this guy would be if he got paid with royalties?
I think it's the same story as the guy who did the "Yahoooooo" yodel as well. I could be wrong - somebody correct me if I am, please.:)
I work at Google and its data centers - and google is VERY VERY tight lipped about everything. I had to sign a huge NDA, for Google, and another huge NDA for the datacenters. Pretty much, we can't take pictures, talk about anything, show anyone anything, bring anyone else in, talk about procedures, etc.. and the datacenter company's employees are instructed to do the same as well.
If the datacenter found out about the tour guide confirming that for you, he probably would have been fired.
I don't understand why everyone assumes iTunes = iTunes Music Store.
I personally use iTunes, but I will never pay for music. I just get my music from my p2p network. iTunes is an awesome way to sort, organize, and listen to your music.
combine this technology with cell phones and a hands free headset, so that inconsiderate jerks can yammer on their cellphone all day long in theatres without pissing anyone else off.
Wasn't there a technology similar to this posted on slashdot a couple months back? A cell phone that read the jaw/throat muscle movements and vibrations to clear up speech in noisy environments?
That's interesting, why would they choose drones to "drill"?
I would think if all they wanted to do was change the course of the asteroid, they could send up some astronauts that they find in oil rigs and menial jobs, to drill under the surface and place a nuclear explosive, then fly back home.
Oh.... wait. Dammit!
In all seriousness though, wouldn't there be a cheaper, more reliable alternative? I believe an object in motion will stay in motion, and with inertia, say an asteroid was on a straight trajectory direct to earth, decreasing its mass wouldn't change its vector at all, would it?
damn. should've taken the red pill. d'oh! (jumps off cliff)
Go Banana!
alwsn,

Is it me or is the google indexer getting better and more encompassing than yahoo/msn these days?
;)
I've done many obscure searches that have turned up no results on yahoo/msn, but many on google.com/search. Accurate results, too.
Could this be related?
PS: I do work for google, but not in the search or any other related group, so take my comments with a grain of salt.
at least they're doing it with quality products, not underhanded business tactics. :)
Yeah, and I think they should call it the G-Spot.

"Hello! I see that you are writing a suicide letter.
May I suggest:
- A new template (?)
- A slower, more painful way to die(?)
- The Grammar Wizard (?)
If there is anything else you need, please feel free to contact my distant brother, Clippy.
Have a nice day!"
eh, i'm not losing any sleep over it. ;)

the children, won't somebody think of the children?!
Dyslexic users of slashdot, untie! :)
According to this search, the famous Patrick Henry was noted to have actually said "Give me Liberty, or eat up martha!"
Wow, that is awesome! You are very lucky.

Makes for a cool story, though!
its like a wacom graphire, but without the pen.
Gee, I'll take 3!
I could've sworn I heard it chirp 2nd at the end! haha. (yes, I know it has no transmission)
Yes, good point, but the PHD would know the difference between your and you're. ;)

Give it a try, you might be surprised.
good. I thought I was the only one doing this.
:)
Once I see that a tagged email address i gave out has been harvested by spammers, I immediatley set up a rule to just dump the email.
Makes life much easier.
with all these april fool's postings, I don't know what to believe anymore!

If I recall correctly, the 96-ish and up Ford Taurus vehicles were designed by a team of only women.
I mean, look at it.. it looks like a kotex pad on wheels!
well once we get a bit farther out from the sun, we'd probably freeze to death. :)
Unless... these madmen double as giant climate-controlled heaters?
