The GOP loyalists are jumping faster than teabaggers. The drums of impeachment are thundering louder by the day. People are finally seeing the "Conservative GOP agenda", no health care for anyone but the rich, zero environmental protections, coal companies being able to dump untreated waste into rivers and streams, turn back the clock 75 years on civil rights - no, this will likely cost the GOP the House and Senate at midterms, so there's quite a good chance the tide will turn.

  8. So another computer company has repeated another error in logic - that 1 interface works on every platform:
Microsoft's massive phone market share and accolades for Win 8 for some reason are ignored.
Additionally, we see the path to the decline of Ubuntu - going public. Remove creativity and direction from users handing it to detached shareholders motivated only by EPS (earnings per share), dividends, and market cap will undoubtedly move Ubuntu in the "right" direction. ya.. that will happen.
I bailed on Ubuntu years ago and went to the source, Debian. Haven't looked back.

  13. and also, you're not the only one who's written software. I've designed and written entire accounting systems including fixed asset and deprecation.

  14. The mortgage deduction is interest and taxes. few lenders will loan on "tiny houses". Interest deduction on a $50K loan is marginal and again, there's no real estate taxes to deduct. you would be far better to buy it and write off the deprecation - from a tax perspective, use it as a work location and write it off as depreciation using straight line over what ever period you believe it might have value - say 10 years.

  15. As someone who OWNS both houses and LAND - i can say you are WRONG. it's actually the combination. I have several hundred acres and a couple of houses. undeveloped land does not appreciate that much. It's the combination of a nice house - that is maintained - on desirable LAND(location, location, location) that appreciates.
of course there are "boom" areas that prove the exception, but for the most part it's both.

  16. Throw in stupid notions like "tiny houses" which rob naive millennials of asset appreciation vehicle "home ownership" that generates American's greatest wealth; and you've got a guaranteed work till death prospect.
