    Not to mention the tests which C++ wins even in his, um, differently biased conditions: Nested loops and matrix multiplication. I may be a special case, but more than half of the codes I write have matrix multiplication; all of them have nested loops.

    He's right, this time. Using more procedural elements is not likely to result in smaller datasets for rendering. What's more likely is that other parts of the scene will get more complicated and always exploit the full resources available. Procedural grass, hair, etc. means that the other non-procedural textures can now be more numerous and complex.

    The problem was in choosing an obviously generic word in the first place. They would have been wiser to choose something unique, but recognizable. For instance, when I trademarked the name "Halitosilicious®" I wanted to make sure my subsequent infringement case against my coworkers would hold up.

    Whoa- Synchronicity. I was about to undertake installing some yet-to-be-determined Linux distro (probably FC2) on my wife's Sony laptop. I wanted to make sure that the 1394 interface and the built-in memory stick reader worked. I also wanted to check if the support for 802.11b on cardbus is ready for prime time.

    And this is why it was genius to watermark the files as well as DRM them. DRM can always be broken, if you can play a file at all. "Scratching out" watermarks will seriously degrade sound quality, since the watermark is in the audio even after decoding. Even if you break DRM for your own backup purposes, you can't release anything into the wild without fear of being nabbed for illegally distributing copyrighted material.
