    The first thing kazaa needs to do is to quit bundling spyware that crashes computers with their software. I've had to fix countless computers all because the spyware bundled with kazaa fucked up windows system files..

    In Windows Explorer, there's no way to sort by extension.

    You can view by type which is generally the same thing.. besides, you'd have an hard time fitting many .mp3 files on a floppy considering the average mp3 is a couple of megs..

    Your own web site [eskimospy.com] isn't even legible at 1600x1200 because you're hard coding your font sizes in your style sheet rather than using a relative size like a percentage. Fixed font sizes will override what font size a user has specified as their default font size in their browsers.

    Only in IE, other browsers have no problem scaling fixed font sizes up.. Fixed font sizes are the only reason I ever fire up a mozilla based browser..

    being hosted on a .edu tends to lend your site credibility (and probably higher google pagerank) than most niche websites, giving it a leg-up to the competition as well.

    My site hit a low for this month today with only about 30 hits.


    Thats because its yet another slashdot clone running phpnuke with no original content. The market for sites that link to content on real news sites is already full.. if you expect people to visit, generate some new and interesting content. ..And ditch nuke.. slash clone sites are a dime a dozen anymore and most sites don't have enough visitors to necessitate the overhead (read: bloat) that the prepackaged cms programs provide. Think about the sites that you like to visit that have less than 1000 visitors, do they run slash-like code? I doubt it.

    Great. My counter's currently on 2137, and that's after a year. I'm off to hang myself.

    People tend to avoid free hosts like geocities because the content is generally poor, and there are usually annoying popups and ads.. get better hosting and have some content, you'll get that many hits a month.

    Well, the one with the scaled down images is "expose" a feature that allows you to see apreview of every open window and choose which one you'd like to work with. A hint might have been the "expose" control panel where it tells you how this works.


    That seems like an interesting concept, I wonder if it would be better than the addon for xp that shows you a preview for each app as you alt-tab between them.

    most mail programs, atleast in the windows world, have an option to mark something as read after it'd been highlighted for a certain amount of time, that way if you scoll past it it's still unread, but if you stay on it for a 20 seconds or whatever it switches to read.. I find it hard to believe that apple left this feature out of their mail program..

    I was at an ACM conference once where the vendors weren't supposed to give out merchandise, but a bunch of them did anyway.. One vendor just gave out plastic bags(which wasn't disallowed) so that people would have something to put all of the disallowed vendor stuff into.

    Isn't the free gear handed out by the vendors? How does comdex have any control over that? There maybe more free gear this year than ever, they don't know.

    how many of those engines you've listed are actually done enough to make a decent game? the problem with opensource is that people quickly get in over their heads an abandon project before they complete enough to mention.
