What was it? The R&D department for the Wii was about 5-7 people and their system was based off old technology slapped on a Gamecube. I'm not dismissing the success of the Wii, but perhaps their R&D is not for hardware, but for marketing. The casual gamer is a goldmine, that's what makes Nintendo so successful.

If they are going to jam cell phones from cars, they might as well jam passengers and while we're at it, we can ban human drivers to guarantee no accidents.

  19. am i the only one? on How Hulu, NBC, and Other Sites Block Google TV · · Score: 1

Am I the only one who's still satisfied with using a PC as a media-center hub for entertainment? I bet you for less than $160 you can get all the parts needed to create a PC that is powerful enough to display HD movies to a TV and hold 500gb of info. Add an extra $50 and you have a 2tb+ hard drive. It'll play DVD's, maybe bluray if you get lucky, hulu, netflix, veoh, youtube, and all of those gray area sites that you've been wanting to connect to your TV. If you have an xbox or a ps3 you can do some minor adjustments to get access to almost any video service on the net. If you like your pc and want to deal with things wirelessly, HD wireless streaming exists now so in my opinion, instead of worrying about apple, google, or panasonic about whether or not they will keep their features or continuously support their product, ask yourself if it would be better to build your own media center than to rely on others?

It's common to see 4k res in a production environment, so pushing 4k Blurays players (or something?) and TV's would have been better than this 3D thing because technology isn't at an affordable level to make holographic projections worthwhile in your home theater. In the corporate setting it can cost anywhere between 100k-500k for a single boardroom equipped with these projectors. Games do have their advantages in 3D, even with silly glasses. Oh well, we'll see what happens from here.
