You missed my point (and i'd be willing to bet you're the original author, jsut now posting as AC to make it look like you're being backed up).
Childeren are impressionable. They do not have the mental ability to decide if something like sex is right or wrong. Try engaging in an in depth conversation with your rape victims sometime. ask them about current events and youre going to ehar about the picture they drew or what they did in school today. You aren't going to hear the child rant about the current presidential election or have them express a concern for world hunger.
let me ask you this.. how do you pick up you victims? do you call thier parents and ask them if it's ok if they come over for some "erotic training"? or do you just lure them with time honored traditions of offering them candy or toys or WHATEVER? If you're so sure that your in the right, give the parents of the childer you rape a call and ask them how they feel about it.
i think you seriously need to be repeatedly gang raped i prison before you'll understand this.
You're all missing the point. Courtney is calling the RIAA's bluff. If they are suing on behalf of the artists, it would only be logical for the artists to recover "lost" money. We should all be glad that we've got her on our side. She is an extreamly outspoken person (imho on the level of Chuck D). Rip the fucking system courtney.
for some reason i just don't see this ever becoming a reality (as much as i'd like...). IMHO we (the usa) should be spending more money on our so called space exploration programs. i mean sheesh we haven't been to the moon in quite a while...
Ugh, even if i owned a visor i don't think i'd trade in my rio for this... 64 megs of memory fills up awful quick (especaly since i try to encode at 160kbps-192kbps).
on a side note, does it have any limitations? i know the MpTrip player couldn't decode anything higher than 192kpbs. what about VBR?
If this is true (which i don't doubt), what's going to stop the people from keeping inet1 up? inet2 is looking to be an elietest type place, so imho fuck it. let's fix the internet that's already in place before we up and decide to replace the whole thing.

In it's current state i wouldn't use it everyday. it's still missing a *few* minor details, but all in all it's pretty kick ass. google *flys* with this html engine. i'm actually finnaly excited about ns6 now that i've used this and they added an option for the old UI.
i'm actually plesantly surprized... looks as if intel put alot of planning and time into this. as soon as there is a p4 sdram option i'll look into picking up one of these suckers...
Hmmm.... wouldn't it be really weird if the sledgehammer became the native linux platform? think about it... sun and solaris have the sparc chip as the base and they ported to x86 after... the sledgehammer could become the base for linux and everything is ported from there. then again i could have just forgotten to take my pills today hehe
even if there is a "standard" linux/unix gui, why would any of the hard core distros (slackware, debian, etc) stop you from chaning your UI? that would just be retarded.
Ok i'm torn on this issue. on one hand, i'm a sysadmin/geek and mp3s are HANDY! but on the other hand i am a musician who has recorded an album (another on the way...). $12-$16 for a GOOD album imho is worth it. but accross the board? no thanks. When eve6's first major label record came out i bought it *brand new* for $6.99. you know why i bought it? because i felt that even if the record sucked, i only lost 7 bucks. turns out it's one of my most played albums (along with thier latest...).
Anyway! if the riaa thinks that they actually have a chance to walk out of this mp3 ordeal that THEY have created alive, lowering the wholesale price of cds would be the way to go.
think about it... if all the latest albums were priced to own at $7-$12 for a single cd album, what would stop someone from actually buying the disc, instead of using any of the peer-to-peer file transfer programs to find the albums they want. On top of that thr riaa could walk out of this as the hero *if they play thier cards right* and use napster et al. to thier benifit. Use it the same way they use radio promotions (sometimes before a major or semi-major album is released, the first single is released to radio stations to try to generate a buzz about the album... and what does a buzz lead to? record sales.)
Alec, may the force be with you always. You've helped to make all of our lives that much better.

Ok here is my input on this topic: Somewhere along the lines i was told that mp3 were not so legal because they were in a digital format, therefor there is no loss in quality and that is why everyone is up in arms over this whole ordeal. But if making digital copies is illegal, than is it still legal for me to use a dat and a a dat walkman to listen to music i've recorded from my own cds? what about the ill-fated DCC format (anyone else remeber it?)? DCC stood for Digital Compact Cassette and it played these new dcc tapes as well as the old analog tapes. Why wasn't this marked as being possibly illegal?
Music piracy aside i think this whole deal with mp3s being illegal a load of bullshit. I own my cds, and i can legally make a personal copy for ym own enjoyment. i don't care if it's mp3, cassette, cd-r, or lp. i have no intention to distribute my own collection of music or help in music piracy (i am a musician with an album on it's way out) but i do NOT think it's fair to be told how or how not to listen to the music i have purchased.
Ok i wasn't trying to tell anyone what they can and cannot comment on. i just felt outwrite calling it crap after it's been posted to/. wasn't right. if it's crap, why does it deserve to be posted by CT?

you know it's a sad day when someone speaks thier opinion, and since it's the opposite of all the left wing RMS clones it gets moderated as flamebait.
