All these examples are good, but they took years before they would work properly. Now using Expedia or whatever is just a fine slick experience. Using it w/o having the plane aggregator (that ugly blue square window that was common to most booking sites) crashing 5 years ago was another story.
I'm not really defending it, because beside the difficult parts, it seems that even the easy parts of what amounts to a glorified CMS are miserable.
Why do you inflict us your misanthropic and stupid interpretation of what due process should be ? This topic has been studied by generations of constitutional layers and have been beaten to death. Just open a book, instead of inflicting your naive refutations to the Slashdot crowd. All your questions are answered in first grade law school. Either you know, and this is very disingenuous, or you don't and you should just read and shut up.
No mod points today, sad because that's one of the most important correction of a common misconception I've read on slashdot in ages. The "founders" argued endlessly on this very issue, they even fought a war over it. It's amusing to see where the GOP standed on that issue at the time, by the way.
Except if you intend to age it. It doesn't age at all in a box/pouch, and it ages only marginally with plastic corks.
Therefore, for aging wine, one needs a proper bottle with a proper cap (either cork, or specially engineered plastic "cork" as is becoming common in Bordeaux these days).
Problem schools are located (all of them) in problem neighborhoods. Even with the best teachers, you can't do something good with a high concentration of problem children in a single classroom.
It would take a more diverse population to get somewhere (and actually give a chance to those poor neighborhood kids through emulation and performant shcooling which is impossible if none of the studends are manageable). And this is the point of this article. Should the rare parents that live in these poor areas not sent their kids to private school, the public school would still see a decent intake on non-problem ridden children, which would permit better school performance for all children.
However, I completely understand the point of the parents. Given availability of better options, why sacrifice yourself for the better good? This is more than just paying your taxes happily here. We are talking of a Jesus Christ level of commitment here, sacrificing a life of riches and middle class happiness to better off the life of other problem children in the slum. I'm willing to help, but not that much.
If human, ask them how they got the number and if I had previous business relationship in the past. Most collections are illegal, they will hangup immediately never to call again, because these words mean trouble to them.
I'm not sure which bombing you are refering to. France was part of the later war on Gadaffi in 2010(?). It did not participate in the post-Lockerby action, but I doubt it actively tried to disrupt it.
When did the 750m became a solid performer exactly? It's a piece of junk that's just good to run Aero, just like any of its predecessors in the mobile GPU arena, where only the top line is a mediocre performer matching the "mid-range" desktop GPU.
Were you eating several hundred of pounds of honey in prehistoric times too? It's pretty certain that HFCS is not dangerous in small quantities. What about long term exposure to excessive intake ? Research tends toward proving it is damaging the liver, but your honey analogy is certainly as good as control tested experiments I guess.
Depends how intoxicated. But anyway statistics do not support the idea that "careful" intoxicated have less accidents. All level of BAC correlate with an increase in accident probability. It just increase mildly at first, but gets dramatic very quickly after 0.08 BAC.
Also driving a 9pm is much easier than driving at 6pm, phone interference may not be enough to make a blip on the statistic because there are seldom interactions with other drivers/pedestrians/unexpected events at this hour (except for deer and critter activity). That doesn't make driving on the phone safe at any other hour or condition that require full attention.
Not to blow your bubble or anything, I like the VW sportwagen. I almost bought one actually. Its a good quality car, gets the job done with reasonable creature comfort etc (just like say Subaru outback or you name it entry-luxury wagon).
There is still a significant gap in interior material quality and engine refinement compared to a real luxury interior. I am currently running BMW, and I would not advocate that it is ultimate luxury (It is not), but it is noticeably better than a Jetta. Is it 20k (or so) better? Maybe not, but I bought it used.
Just jump into a E class Mercedes. It feels different. Just drive a Porsche, every other car becomes boring. Or don't because that will ruin your Jetta for you. You are right, the Jetta is a perfectly fine car with no serious drawbacks, but there are better cars for more money (there are also very expensive dudes, but that's another story).
The problem is that often, cynicism is not about having a close eye on them, but taking that sheep stance of "yeah, everybody does it, meh". And the, just because nobody cares, indeed, everybody starts doing it.
Its one thing to put adds in your "private" space. I dislike adds and run adblockers at all time anyway, but I certainly respect that one may do what he wants on -his- website.
Now, we are talking about people profiling YOU. They stalk you wherever you go, take notes of all the things you do, and alter your experience of the internet based on arbitrary criterion. There is a real danger, when some massive "administration" (yeah, I know, the state is the -only- possible evil, large corporations that lock a market are never to blame because private sector is always right) takes arbitrary decisions that impact my life.
Case in point, I was watching videos of "crocodile" addicts on youtube, out of curiosity. For 6 weeks, I had adds about withdrawal clinics plastered all around my device. How do I explain to casual bystanders that it looks like some algorithm has profiled me as a drug addict ? What if it suddenly decide to target me for a massive porn campaign based on some bogus statistical behavior, how do I explain that to my wife ? What if they use the collected stuff to change my insurance rate, deny me employment, or discriminate in another way ? What I do on the internet is my own private business. I do not want it to be public, I do not want it to be -private- but the property of somebody else that will sell my "profile" to all evil-doers that just want to molest me so that they can juice another quarter out of me.
So yeah, they have the right to show their adds on their website. They don't have the right to stalk me wherever I go on the internet.

They did use other contractors with closed source solutions (like SCO, Bosh, SAP, etc). Using OSS is new.
Why not just Android by the way?
That's not very Ubuntu feelings, I can feel.

And so are RC flying toys by the way.
Drones are already regulated.

Robots: Reported to the FCC, everytime.

So, nothing changed, really.
The idea of a foldable car has been around for some time, and even implemented in the past in some Renault prototypes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_Zoom
Self parking cars have also been around for some time. Controlling the operation with a phone is kinda new, but not unexpected lets say.
Good for him, but why should I (or we) care ? This is people mags material now.

Would you care to substantiate your claim? Data show no such thing as a 15 year pause in global warming. They show it is accelerating.

Me neither. I've never been in an accident. Because I watch what I'm doing instead of screwing around with my e-gadgets.
The chemical form of these release also matter. That changes completely how they will come back in the food chain later down the road.
Antartica is an actual continent, with rocks under the ice.
Electric or not, the Tesla will need maintenance. Wheel bearings are still the same, so are most suspension components, etc etc.

Election tempering is one of the vilest crime one can commit.
Stealing credentials and installing keyloggers is illegal, also.
