Or make a program that organized your MP3 and finds duplicates. Or make a program that automatically solves Sokudo puzzles. It'll be something with utility you can use and play with, and improve over time as your skills increase. Good Luck!!

I supposed you could call the removal number and give the security voice phone number for some defense contractor, airport security number, or other person of power, State Court House, Senator?
Once that bum started calling these "sensitive" numbers someone with the proper means would shut that scumbag down.

Similar thing happened to me on my first job, only on a smaller scale, I was told by a Electric Boat in CT that they had no income tax, coming from NY that would save me several grand a year - what a liar!! I should have looked it up myself, they're both in the top 5 highest taxed states. I've learned to be super critical of job offers and to really look into the fine print and to get everything in writing. I mentioned this issue to my boss after i started, and maybe he did take it into consideration during the next raise.

The HR people that negotiate with you are as bad as car salesmen. I've got a "friend" that i consult now when i'm negotiating a new job. I'll be happy to pass on the name.

I agree, PC104 is the way to go, and you can probably get it to boot in less than 10 seconds if you do it right. (i'd suggest an x86 processor over the X-Scale because it's got better linux support)
Here is a great book on embedded linux
    http://www.embeddedlinuxinterfacing.com/http://www .embeddedlinuxinterfacing.com
I used it as a basis for a masters project and it's ideal for someone that's clever but isn't a linux guru, it doesn't get into graphics (but i don't think any embedded linux book does), but this will at least be a good solid foundation to start your project with.
Also, what if you took 2 PDA's and layed them horizonal?
And never mind all that talk about a real RTOS, i'm sure the 10us responce by embedded linux will be suffecient.

I had a friend that persued a MS after a BS because the job market was bad, and it worked out well for him. Also get in with a big company after school, they have large training programs where you'll learn valuable assetts you take with you to a smaller company. Good Luck!!
