There's a 20 factor test, I don't know how current it is, but one of the stipulations inside of it is:
The extent to which services performed by the worker are a key aspect of the regular business of the company. If a worker provides services that are a key aspect of the company's regular business activity, it is more likely that the company will have the right to direct and control his or her activities. For example, if a law firm hires an attorney, it is likely that it will present the attorney's work as its own and would have the right to control or direct that work. This would indicate an employer-employee relationship.
Now in the case of Uber, driving someone to their destination to me seems like a major part of Uber's business.
I don't know how many games have turned killing Chinese into entertainment value? This isn't a game made by a game company. This was developed by the PLA. Did America's Army developed for the US Army attack Chinese, or really anyone? Propaganda is propaganda.
You suggest that Apple spent a month testing other phones, they couldn't perhaps have tested this in tandem while working to fix their own phone? They showed the testing process. Basically what they admitted was they gave you an X to cover up the antennae, people did it and therefore had something to complain about.
Heaven forbid one benchmarks their product against someone else's. I think the free case is a nice option. Also the 30 days to return your iphone is another nice option.
I think the problem really is... People like to bitch. That, and fixing problems is as easy as flipping a few switches.
3.3.1 -- Applications may only use Documented APIs in the manner prescribed by Apple and must not use or call any private APIs. Applications must be originally written in Objective-C, C, C++, or JavaScript as executed by the iPhone OS WebKit engine, and only code written in C, C++, and Objective-C may compile and directly link against the Documented APIs (e.g., Applications that link to Documented APIs through an intermediary translation or compatibility layer or tool are prohibited).
The F-22 is designed to win an air battle before it starts. It's an air superiority fighter, meant to take out a few planes before the enemy even knows they have entered the theatre.
Agreed, this brings me back to the 80s, with the GI JOE toy collection. Cobra always had the best stuff. I wish I still had my GI Joe Blackbird toy, The Cobra Night Raven. That and the A-10 clone, The Cobra Rattler, that planes amazing too, it's a flying tank. Truly the two were thunder and lightning. Joe's got annihilated in my backyard.
But I think a really good language to learn is ECMAScript or to the layman, Javascript.
Javascript is the language of the future. It's such a powerful language and so underrated. It's far beyond the whole switching images thing. It's an interpreted langauge deployed on more computers than any other programming language. (think web browser.) It's light, it's fast, it's dynamic. For a scripting language it offers you an extremely familiar syntax, C like. It's becoming the backbone of other environments, and other compiled / interpreted languages are being extended for scripting support.
If they just taught the Java language in your introductory class and not the concepts behind it, then your school / professor sucks. You can buy a book to learn a language. (Well you can buy a book to learn the concepts too, but the good ones are hard to find.)
I'm just remembering my old CS classes, and god damn I take java.lang and garbage collecting for granted these days. (char[] or char* for Strings my lord, it's like a lightsaber an elegant weapon, for a more civilized time!) .
Agreed, the media sensationalizes the bad stories because it sells air times. Unfortunately it doesn't mean these bad things aren't happening. The problem is one bad apple screws up the whole bunch. It's the sort of guilt by association. There's a lot of people out there doing good. There's a few who are doing bad.
I disagree with the slow statement, especially when it comes with the OS X platform, Apple invested heavily in getting Swing to work right. If the latest builds NB 5.0+ is any indicationm they did a good job. Eclipse on the other hand just doesn't seem to get the same oomph on OS X that Netbeans has. Also for the nub's out there getting started with development is simpler on Netbeans, you don't have to traverse which plugins you need for Eclipse. Most things are bundled in NBs.
Maybe they should start paying for the world. Releasing buggy software and expecting people to QA it for you FOR FREE is insane. Maybe apple, microsoft, and the rest of these asshole companies should start hiring some decent testers. You fanbois can stop whining too, or are you offering to compensate these guys for bug testing your favorite lame software?
Ah yes, giving away FREE software and expecting people to use it for FREE. In turn for that FREE use, if someone finds a bug it's absolutely ludicrous to expect them to report it.
Now mind you I understand why they may be giving it out for FREE, probably so people can FREEly develop for the iPhone, widgets and browser.
Maybe they should have created an IDE that wasn't FREE so you can pay for the tools to develop on their FREE platform, and use that money to pay for the QA department, so I can be FREE of you haters and your whining.
"No Third-party Apps on iPhone" Says Jobs. Who cares, this device became less relevant, the only way I think this will make a come back for me is if it has a terminal installed w/ ssh.
It's just running from the damn AH to the mailbox in Ironforge that sucks, falling off the bridge and having to run around to get back sucks. 256MB, video card and 1GB memory standard (on the bigger model) should help this out

Especially with a ninja flying both.

Apple advises Mac users to stop using PayPal.
In the form of Roujin Z.
If it would tell me how to fix all these Airport disconnects that Leopard seems to cause.
I heard it's also rude to talk on your cell phone while on the train in Japan. (Any truth to that?)

I blame Oprah.

Anyways, It is not release yet, so get over it! and wait! All these guys are worse than Cartman waiting for the Wii! Geez!
C'mon.... C'mon!!!!

So why again should we upgrade?

I'm guessing you haven't seen the soft keyboard.
However, it has not saved my grammar.
Partial Edit:
WOW server downtime has saving my marriage.

Patience, these stories have a place and time, and it's 43 days from now.
