No it's not irrelevant now that MS is going to have an app store. In the past, once they sold you their OS there was no guarantee (or likelihood) of you being a continued revenue stream for them. Now, by forcing a spec that locks the hardware to the OS, which then locks a decent chunk of software installation to their app store, almost guarantees a continued revenue stream.
Or when the cartels start getting a bit too aggressive/violent here in the US (much more so that what they've done so far) and it becomes a military operation.
I loved my Sprint Pre. While WebOS was lacking in a number of features, it was extremely refined in what it did do; went the Apple route (what it does, make it do well) rather than the MS/Android route (does almost everything, but isn't very elegant). The hardware did suck, not so much in specs, but the build quality. The slider would unhinge, touchscreens would stop responding, power button break, etc.
Messed around with a TP today at Staples.. it does have the same gesture area that the Pre had - or at least, something that functions the same way, and in both axis.

Something tells me history isn't your strong suit. At it's inception, the printing press stood as a tool about as un-RIAA as was possible to be. Check out Johannes Gutenberg (of Project Gutenberg fame:) ).

And for the love of god, don't get anywhere close to the Dr Who mini-series/movie from Fox? from about a decade ago.

No. Buddhism is essentially a very simple, personal belief system that is very similar to trying to live life via the golden rule (karma / balance). Anytime something seems more involved than that (religious or ritualistic, etc) it's pretty much that human element trying to muck things up.
