Great... Just great... TVs in more rooms of the house.
How many TVs do we actually need in the house? It isn't enough that we get 100+ channels of absolute garbage but we have to display it in every single room in the house. Just in case I miss 1 minute of re-runs of re-runs of MASH.
You have to wonder what effect all this TV watching has on the children's attention span.
"However, Directions on Microsoft analyst Rob Helm said that any new version of Windows is likely to slow Longhorn's arrival."
Clap Clap to Rob Helm... Doesn't one think that it was done for that specific perpose?!?
If you take a look at the beta release and their "wonderful" new desktop feature you can see that they've got a hell of a lot of work to do. The resource requirements for their 3D desktop is over and beyond 90% of the machines out there today.
Oracle tried to embed their database into an Operating System as well. A number of years ago, they partnered with Sun to produce this product called the "Oracle Appliance". It was essentially Oracle and Solaris merged together. Not only was it expensive, but it sucked too. In order to upgrade the database, you had to blow away the operating systems. That partnership is the sole reason you get an Oracle CD included with every Sun machine.
If MS are so worried about the source code being exploited to find security holes then it leads me to believe that MS knows these holes. Why aren't they pro-actively fixing it?!?!
Big hint to MS... Fix the exploits then it won't matter if the source code is leaked!
What a load of rubbish. I don't know what company you use your phone with but I can assure you that Telstra does not allow the 25c call to a line 50+kms away. The limit is 30km and after that it is called a community rate which is charged per minute.
The beauty of living on the outskirts of Sydney I guess... *sigh*
Do you honestly think that Microsoft is the only corporation doing it? Do you not think that any company that is in Microsoft's position wouldn't do the same?
Look at the porpose of big business? Is it there to be the saviour of society or to make profit for shareholders? It's the latter and I can tell you if I owned shares in any big business that wasn't targetting their competitors then you will deffinately hear me yelling at the Shareholders Meeting.
Every company tries to squash their competition. The only difference with Microsoft is that they're the biggest and most powerful.
Just to let you all know... No.. I do NOT work for Microsoft and NO... I do NOT have shares in Microsoft. NO.. I do NOT like Microsoft products.
I tried to immerce my PC into liquid nitorgen but it just made this buzzing sound and then switched itself off.. Does this mean the hidden microphone is disabled now?
All hail King Blimp of the Blimp people!
Sounds like a really good terrorist target to me.. In fact anyone with an air rifle could do some damage!
What the hell are these people going to do when they've watched their porn DVDs to death?
I wonder if this is going to be like biosphere where they get their weekly allocation of Macdonalds!
Don't worry.... Richard Branson will save the save with Virgin Galactic

*Places on his Dr Evil suit*
I want $1 Million... *evil laugh*
VNC? Wow.. What was his IP address again?! :)
I find disabling the ON button helps a lot!
How much of that 1.5 tonnes of water is filtered and then reused? I would say that it's more cost effective to reuse that water.
So while 1.5 tonnes of water is used per machine, most of that water would be used multiple times.
You Know I'm Bad.... I'm Bad..
You Know it! I'm Bad!
And the whole world knows,
Every Inch that that I go.
The whole world knows it.. Who's Bad?!
Thank you Michael "I didn't touch that boy" Jackson
About bloody time... My marriage could have used this 5 years ago. May not have cost me (as Eddie Murphy puts it) HALF!
Maybe Mastercard should make an advertisment out of it..
Development of Program X... $0
Enhancements by Company Y.. $Bugger All
The look on the teller's face when you hand over your list of improvements... Priceless
They Can't.... The editor hasn't bought his Philips Mirror TV yet!

One of Oracle's more "Interesting" products.
Doen't this just sound like a game of Civilization 3. Whoever is the first to build the United Nations Wonder controls it...
;)
The United Nations Building IS in New York.
Gotta love equating real life to computer games!
It has been proven that the human body has a magnetic field. Scienticsts have used spectromitors to map the magnetic field of the body.
The "alternative" people (the ones that mummy and daddy said never to talk to) call it an aura but its essentially just a magnetic field.
Oh, remember the days. The sad thing is that I was one of those once as well! Now look at me.. On second thought, let's not look at my code!
You've got to admit, at that age it's fun reveling in a freshman's coding troubles!
Ahhh.... So you're the guy that has been following me around the world and putting the feet down.
:)
STOP DOING IT!
My question is as follows:
If MS are so worried about the source code being exploited to find security holes then it leads me to believe that MS knows these holes. Why aren't they pro-actively fixing it?!?!
