    Check this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_control_unit This is what i had a hand in, sometime ago, in some big, known company, who used to develop the "firmware", or more likely the software for this ECU (or EUC in french), and guess what? Around 90% of the so called "developers" did not even have a math degree, and these people are supposed to program the most important part of YOUR car? Of course, i left this company ASAP, but the bad taste is here, and i am very afraid to drive the nowadays car, and you should be too. Have you ever heard of the latest "software" firmware problem/update of Toyota/Prius? and wondered "what the heck is going on"?

    When you are unable to create an art, you collect data, statistic in other words. Let's hope that at some point of time they will find some real genius to analyze this data, and create something that actually works.

    Next time try to compare apples and black holes. I suppose that your comparison would be more accurate than the before mentioned. Btw, my C/C++/Java/Delphi/Oracle/CACHE(the database....if you ever heard of that) grammar is clean, short, perfect and also, by some coincidence, actually doing something useful.

    If i was any of the before mentioned phone manufacturer, i would SUE Steve Jobs for slander and lets face it, for stupidity.     I was you, i would NEVER hire anyone with a certificate, NEVER. Obtaining a certificate is simply lost money, and lost time. Not mentioning the fact that every monkey with well designed short memory could remember a 2000 pages MS Server certificate Q&A, and become what? Monkey with MS Server certificate? And i am not joking, i really know such a people, who does not ever have a math degree, but who have a lot of "certificates".... Anyway, good look, you will need one.

    It is also true that Stalin was not ready for a war, and did not intend to start it, and in fact, he even was ready to give up Ukraine and have a peace treaty.....but we all know what happened after that. Was he a monster? YES. Was he guilty of starting the war? NO. This is just an example of how you should face the facts, or translated, the devil is not so black as you used to believe (maybe too red?).

    It is pretty simple. Most of the people are simply not able to admit that they have made a mistake, and when they face the real facts, then become even more stubborn just for the sake of being RIGHT (after they put their heads in the sand of course). In this sense, Christianity is very useful religion, because it says that we are all sinner....a little bit exaggerated, but better than the total ignorance.

    Not always, some cars have funny pedal shape and position, and when you try to make a sudden stop, you could miss the brake pedal.

    Something similar happened to me. I was waiting at the red lights when the driver just.....used my car as a brake, without even trying to stop/push the pedal. After that he said it was because of the new tires!!! WTH? So, IMHO, it is fair to say that these drivers are just trying to avoid some insurance hike (and my insurance suffered some increase, no matter that it was not my fault).

    Let's face it, in practice, you are makking backup every friday, of almost everything: Database, SVN, CVS, builds, release, etc...And there is a good reason for it, like computer burned, sysadmin left without giving up the password ;).... But in reality, this backup data is almost never used. In my long long practice i never had the chance to see the need of these backups, nevertheless, you just have to have it. Period.

    I am not jerk, i don't bully anyone, and i DON"T want my real name, or RealID (whatever that means) to be shown/used/requested. Period. Btw, could you please be sooo good to explain to me what is the direct correlation between the JERK and the REAL NAME? With proof. A real one, not fake one, lol.

    My experience shows that when you are dealing with very big tables, or very frequent requests, or whatever else extraordinary, then all the "standard" advises are simply NOT WORKING. The only solutions is to see how the other are doing it, or to hire some DB guru, even if it is for 3-6-12 months contract, and let him rearrange and restructure your DB. Just for example, if have very very big tables, the only working solutions that i am aware of is to forget about CONSTRAINS, FOREIGN KEYS, or whatever little else convenient extra that every db book could have advise you. In fact, you should use ONLY PRIMARY KEY. Also, you should use physical partitioning, based on some criteria (like Oracle is doing it), and finally, you should have some temporary tables, containing some useful pre-calculated data.
