This is usually above a little "drive, passion and concentration". These people are designing 3D Printers and CPU's inside a GAME using basic logic built in, that wasn't really planned for anything else than closing and opening doors.
You go build a 16-bit CPU, and see how you feel when everyone says "nothing special, move along". You WILL feel pride for your project, and you will be saddened when no one shares that pride.
And when those first videos popped up, the CPU being one of the earliest, there was no guide or any documentation n how to do it. They used regular information from the real world, and translated that to the game's built in logic.
So stop bing such a tool and appreciate what these people have done with their minds.
It's more than just "less eye-strainy than the iPad". I'm fairly sure it is almost impossible to get eye strain on the Kindles e-ink screen. It gives off no light or anything different than a piece of paper. Though you probably could get eye strain if the font is too small or something similar, but that is user adjustable.
Battery life is crazy on the Kindle. I'll typically go a month before needing to charge it, maybe 2-3 weeks if I have WiFi on and I go to the web browser to check something.
Comparisons between the Kindle and any tablet are null since the Kindle is meant to be a dedicated reading device with some bare-bones extra features, like web browser or basic music playback.
It's not that much. My current "Desktop Replacement" laptop is a 10lbs, 18.4" beasty. It can be a pain to lug around, but the screen real estate is worth it. If I could have double the useable screen space for about the same weight/form factor, I would definitely go for it.
... all we need to register you is: Your name, address, parent's name, pet's name, birth weight, DNA sample (hair or saliva), and $29.95 for the cranial implant.

EPUB is understandable, but software like Calibre can easily convert it to MOBI.
SD Card is moot. The Kindle now comes with 4GB of memory. Few books are bigger then a few hundred kb, and you should use something else for music.
... they are certified as a bank, and are required to offer the same protections and liabilities as one. I've never had problems with PayPal, but I've heard horror stories of lost money and account freezes with no real hope on recovering what you lost.
Why is this even a news story? I understand Apple products tend to get a lot of attention when being released, but come on. This is a colour alteration, not a brand new phone. We don't see every Android phone get an article, and those are at least different from each other.
Is page views really all Slashdot cares about?
Any app that uses internet could find out where you are by your ip address.
I think the bigger issue is that when installing an app and the user is told what permissions the app is asking for, they probably don't know what half those permissions could correspond too. It's very much like an EULA.
They need to be more detailed, explicitly saying that they are using the permissions to access certain files, the fies should then be listed, and clicking on them gives them a description of that file. When a user sees that an app is asking for all the things this Pandora app was looking for, a think a lot of people will decide against installing it.
Also, you should be able to decide which permissions it gets. The ones you deny should just get blank data sent to the app. E.g. name/age/male should something like john doe/100/male, or GPS data should always be Google's HQ.
Wait for tablets that tout Android 3.0 Honeycomb as that version is geared towards proper tablet support. The tablets out now are hack jobs to be able to run the older versions of Android, such as faking accelerometers and other hardware Android specifies.
If they are older keyboards. then all they would have to do is remove the unnecessary keys and place plastic cards over the mechanisms so they can't be pushed.
Problem solved.
I'm not sure how the monitoring of use or how the protocol works, but the fact that you are already connected to another peer and that they are uploading to you means they could probably get your IP from the list of leechers.

That helicopter must have been carrying the joke as it whooshed past your head.
Read the grandparent. There is this lovely little thing called "context".
Why did you give the person OUTSIDE of America the stereotypical redneck-american accent?
That's exactly what this is, except you don't need any additional cables or cases for the second monitor. Woo!

Pick up that can, citizen.

Y means Yea.? I would have thought it meant Year. Interesting.

If you can't be original, don't make the game. It is that simple.
Maybe France sympathizes with the Egyptians. They are familiar with a revolution.

I thought it was common knowledge that Scotland Yard was NOT in Scotland. It's in London.

Maybe you should check the link your trolling with still works before you use it.

It's a space station.
I just pictured the ship yards from Star Trek and then I squealed a little to loud and woke up the dog.
|Well then let's hope they start picking some sexier astronauts.
No, apparently you're alone with a marketing book from the 90's.
