See, I was always a fan of Cruisin' USA because you could play it on the N64 with one hand. I have fond memories of smoking bowls and playing Cruisin' USA. Not many games allow you to do both at the same time. It was mindless fun. Goldeneye was the opposite, I'd end up getting lost in a level and pissed off!
Here in the US, it's possible to get a credit card that has NO spending limit. It's not easy to do, you have to be super wealthy to qualify, but the cards do exist. One that I'm aware of is the "Black American Express Card." Check it out: http://www.snopes.com/business/bank/blackcard.asp Reading Snopes sort of deflates the coolness and mystique of the card, but still, quite a ridiculous amount of credit there.

Just buy a NOFX cd. Now you have access to the entire Epitaph and Fat Wreck catalogs, because THEY ALL SOUND ALIKE..:) At least Epitaph has a Dillinger Escape Plan CD in their catalog. It's a start.
The good thing is, nobody reads the title of windows. Hell, I do tech support for an ISP, and I'm always surprised at the number of people who don't use the menu bar in IE! They set their home page to Google or some other search engine, and whenever they want to find something, they search for it. It's the polar opposite from how I use computers.
No, they keep them around on newsstands so that people can use them as their own private library. It's a tightly guarded secret that NOBODY buys magazines! Shhh!
They're only charging 1,000 won ($1) per hour? Well, I have a way to cut down on game addiction. Raise the rates! I'd have been addicted to arcade games if they were that cheap back in the day, too! It worked out to $5/$10 per hour the way I used to play. That just doesn't lend itself to compulsive play when you're a kid with a paper route.
Back when I was in high school, my brother had a Nintendo 64 and Crusin' USA. We used to smoke pot and play one handed. One hand on the controller, driving the car, the other hand taking puffs off the pipe. I remember how great the design of that game was, because it was really easy to play. I have always had an informal rule of thumb that if something's easy enough for me to do while stoned, it is designed well. I'm definitely picking up one of these Revolutions. Now can anyone else recommend to me some video games that can be played one handed? Cue the masturbation jokes...
I can't vouch for the headphones, but I will recommend Etymotic's earplugs. They're fantastic. I go to a lot of heavy metal concerts and my ears used to ring pretty bad because of the high tones that would vibrate my ears to the point where they'd hurt. These earplugs take away the high frequencies so you don't get that problem. The music doesn't sound muffled either! I can't recommend them enough. I've got to get a pair of their headphones. If they work as well as the plugs, that's great.
Since when is EULA law? Blizzard's got no right to tell me what to do with software that I bought, sorry. I can see if they ban cheaters from Battle.net as they own that server and have authority over it. But Bnetd users aren't interfering with anyone else. They bypass the copy protection that Blizzard puts in place, but in the America I grew up in, it was the actions that made the crime. Stealing the game is the crime, not refusing to phone home to Blizzard.
I don't foresee myself going to 60. I think I'd have to kill off my character at that point and just start from scratch! Raids... lots of fun until the group disbands and you realize you wasted two hours that you could have used to do any of a number of more productive and fun things. I'm just hoping I have a "fun resurgence" that gets me back into the game.
I hear that. I've got a 49th level paladin who's been spending a LOT of time at the inn lately because I just don't want to kill that much time playing WoW. At this point, with all the grinding I'm doing, I might as well just play Diablo II. In fact, that is what I've been doing! Why split up the loot when I can keep it all for myself? Now if only they'd make a Diablo 3 with graphics as good as WoW.
I think the games on the NES, by and large, are more difficult than the games on the PS2. The continual opportunities to save the game are what makes these new games easier. You used to have to get really damned good at the game in order to get to the end of a game like Contra, because you'd die many times on the way to the final level. Nowadays, they have to make the game easier because most players will only be playing through once and will want to see the conclusion. There are individual games on the new systems that are as difficult, but I disagree that the average game is as difficult.
That is because ice is easy to make. In New England in 1997 (or around then), there was an ice storm that knocked out power for a while. Some places were without power for a few weeks. Others, not so bad. Northern VT and southern Quebec got it worst. Generators went up in price like you wouldn't believe. Total price gouging. Legislators made a fuss about it, I don't remember if they were able to do anything though. The supply of generators was finite, unlike ice, which could be easily made. Maybe not directly in the disaster area, but if I understand it correctly, you could find bags of ice pretty easily. So people would pay a lot of money for generators, because they were a necessity.
That is a very good point. Another thing I noticed after reading the summary of the study that was linked to in the post was that it was misleading, or at the very least, incomplete. The study said "that those who regularly download or share unlicensed music also spend an average of £5.52 a month on legal downloads through sites such as Apple's iTunes Music Store or Napster. Those who were not illegally filesharing spent just £1.27 a month on digital tracks." I don't think they consider CDs to be digital tracks here.
They don't seem to have included CDs at all in their study! How do we know that those who weren't illegally filesharing weren't spending £8 per month on CDs? Maybe these folks were in fact LARGER consumers than the file sharers.
And consider the guy that's behind a modem. He's not really able to do much downloading of mp3s as it is, so that cuts down on both his filesharing and his legal purchases. I just don't think that this survey is particularly useful. Its method is flawed.
When I try to come up with a hint for myself, I usually end up outwitting myself. The Friday afternoon password changing me is a lot smarter than hungover Monday morning me.
That was a pretty fun CAPTCHA! I am a human, what a relief. May I suggest that if you end up rolling this out that you make a way for blind people to do it also, like maybe they can e-mail you for access. Although since you were so informative about CAPTCHAs, you probably already had something in mind for blind people.
And since you haven't played those games, you're in no position to judge their qualities.
Hey, I've never eaten a shit sandwich, but I can tell you it's not a tasty snack. Since when do you have to experience something first hand to be able to critique it?
Fine, convince your country to kick back and not gain control of the strategic points in space. One less contender. If you have such a problem with the United States, do me a favor and boycott our products. And get the fuck off the Internet.
You have my admiration. Hats off to you for excellence in employment. I guess you pretty much HAVE to leave in cases like this. You got the best of both worlds!

Why would I want to install a clone of iTunes, when I've got the real thing?

Also does anyone actually buy magazines anymore?
No, they keep them around on newsstands so that people can use them as their own private library. It's a tightly guarded secret that NOBODY buys magazines! Shhh!
Someone has already beaten you to it.

If GTA was realistic, it wouldn't be fun.
This article repost was modified. Mod down. I can't believe I even need to bring this up.
