That doesn't seem like a very smart message to send.
Actually it seems to me, that it's a very good message to send. The message is: Headquarter in Switzerland, Canada, Japan with offshore holdings in other countries. Setup an simply ignore the US market completely. And if people really want your product that badly, use a 3rd party service to send it across, leaving you high and dry of any type of responsibility.
I've noticed recently, in my dealings with US companies that many no longer operate their headquarters in the US, especially computer companies. Most seem to be Switzerland.
Yeah pretty interesting view there huh? Not only are they saying that they're above the law. But they're saying that the highest law in the land, is no longer the constitution and bill of rights. But the DOJ, and the whim of whoever is in charge. Yeah... now that's going to go over very well, especially about the time it starts hitting appeal courts.
Yeah you're quite right. I probably should have added that to my post under yours. My gun safe has a key lock(pin tumbler), a dial lock, and a bar-handle lock. You need to engage all three before you can open it. It's tedious, but in Canada you're required to store guns in a safe manner. And ammo has to be store separately from the guns as well. I dislike these "security safes" they're cheap, useless and best of all they try to make a showy face of being secure, when at best they're inviting disaster. And anyone with about 8 seconds of time, can open them. 3yr old not required.
My sister and I were picking pin tumbler locks when we were 6 and 7, getting us into all sorts of trouble as most people on/. could guess. A lot of electronic locks, can be bypassed by sharp jarring. Which is exactly what this appears to be, not a real surprise. Even mechanical locks that they use in hotel rooms can be bypassed using this manner.
Beh, the most elegant designs are usually defeated by the most simple solutions.
No, the cop isn't. The policy is criminal. Sadly in most places, not following the policy set by the chiefs of police/civilian oversight board is grounds for immediate termination and/or being called before a disciplinary commission. The real problem, that most people don't seem to understand is, that there are little tin pots at the highest levels of policing that have a chip on their shoulder.
Now you might say, well a cop should just ignore bad laws. Well, plenty of them do. The problem is, they're not ignoring a law in this case, and ignoring policy is much worse than ignoring a bad law. That's just how fucked up it is now. I probably shouldn't get started on the whole political correctness run amok bit either.
Too many, the UK has plenty of serious issues that are truly pressing. But sometimes, the crown likes to "go out if it's way" just to show that it can and piss all over people. It's not smart, but considering how fast the UK is sliding towards a police state? It's something to pay attention to. Arbitrary repression through the courts, instead of common sense prosecution. I'd post some truly horrific stories from some of my now canuck buddies(UK-expats), but they'd probably get traced back to particular individuals, and that would be bad. Living in fear of the government and country that you're not even a citizen of anymore, should say something.
Yeah kinda fugged up isn't it? It's actually a really serious fine, there was a story up here in canuckland oh two weeks back about a couple of Americans being arrested going back to the US for accidentally taking two eggs with them. They were later released, but it's brain dead stupid imo.
tl;dr -you're all big boys now and should damn well know what's acceptable behavior.
Or you know, they could have a women who's more like them than they expect and it won't be an issue at all. Who knows. My sister is hates the entire sexual harassment BS, she can stand up for herself, if she wants to put someone in their place she can. And doesn't need to go running off to someone. If she wants to outgross or out man someone where she works(a federal prison in Canada) she can. It comes with the job in her case, she has to do it.
Sure there's policies on it. But in environments like that, you either stand on your own two feet. Or it's better you went to work at the women's prison. Sure the other male guards will help you, without a question. But don't expect help from the male inmates...yeah you're just asking for trouble.
Yes. It would help. Ever been to court? I mean either to watch a case, or in a legal capacity. It's a general question not directed at you. I have on several occasions, if I hadn't been in the court, then reading the news paper the following day, I wouldn't have known that the article I was reading was even remotely linked to the case I had spent the day watching. It was that far removed from reality.
Is it really the warmest on record? On what record?
Good question. In parts of Canada, that record is only 30 years. In other parts, it's 10 years. Yet it's being included in "climate data" as a pure baseline sample. Heck, where I live they don't even have a weather station for reporting the data. The temperature is now recorded and reported from 48KM away. My sister's place out in Alberta? 16KM away, in a gully, next to a stream, full of cold mountain water. Oh and it's shady until about 2pm.
Everyone needs a bit of crazy. Otherwise, one would go mad. Now, me, myself, and I are going over here and having this nice fine powdery liquid to drink.
Let's face it, in the USA "greens" have less power than dog fanciers
Bull fucking shit.
Ever hear of the northern gateway pipeline in Canada? There's thousands of fake petitioners on the committee hearing list for the environmental oversight meeting up here in Canada placed on there by various groups linked directly to Tides Foundation Canada, and the Tides Foundation in the US. Including people in other countries who didn't sign up.
They do it in Canada, they do it in the US. If you don't think they do, you're woefully ignorant.
I see, I would probably buy another game instead but I guess that's just me.
I'd agree, and so would I. Then again, I'd also expect a developer to be up front and honest with me to. Rather than trying to throw a hissy fit in front of the world, then trying to blame piracy. I remember we've seen this monster with a variety of topics before too. In most cases, piracy isn't the monster under the bed, eating children. Now if he'd given the game away free, then sold the things in game. No one would have made a stink over it. Plenty of people make money off their games like that.
And you suggest that it being a poor game is a good reason to pirate it?
I'm suggesting that there's a relative cause and effect to poor business decisions, this is more so true with software than physical goods. People are more likely to pirate something, especially if they feel they're getting reamed over, and reamed over hard. Especially by a developer who's out for an extra hard screw-over.
Isn't this the same app that was "pay to win"(pay for the app, then pay another $6 to win, then pay more, and if you do anything that causes a loss in data on your phone, you get screwed out of everything) and people just said: "screw you and shove it up your pie hole." Pretty sure it was.
Hold your arm out in front of you for 20 minutes and tell me how great that touchscreen interface is.
Never done defensive tactics(DT) have you? Do that, then strap 30lbs of padding on. Have fun, oh did I mention someone is going to be kicking and punching them repeatedly? Oh yeah baby. Don't drop your guard, it hurts getting hit.
You're right through, the UI for a desktop PC like that isn't the best design. At least not in that way, personally I think smart tilesets would be better with a more intuitive start menu.
Real weaponry is an efficient way of getting "dopamine triggering effects," thus my obsession as a teen with archery.
Mine was racing. So was many others at my highschool, geekdom comes in many flavors oddly enough, and plenty of us liked computers as cars. Going down to the track, and racing in 1/4 mile stretches, then tinkering like hell for the following weekend. Was just as much fun as fun as going to someones house and having a LAN party weekend, and playing Doom and Quake.
To be honest, this entire thing just stinks. Unless they're going to remove or try and "fix the world" so the high is only in "carefully controlled environments, I can't see the point. I've gotten the dopamine high, back when I could run. When I could climb rock walls, when I fractured my upper back. Though the last one was unintentional, it was doing partial situps. Fair warning, they can seriously screw you up.
No sorry, they went out of their way not only to delete the data they had at UEA. But to obfuscate the data that they were using to show how they reached their conclusions. Doesn't that stink? You know who else used methods like that? The same people who believe that eugenics was the cure for humanity, and sterilization was the best solution for the "lesser parts of humanity." Sadly he's individual like Jones, and Mann have been caught repeatedly fudging data, and cherry picking exactly what they want in order to show exactly what they want. The second that you deviate away from their carefully selected sample size, in their carefully selected sample area, their entire set goes out the window.
There are ways to dispute a law you disagree with. Disobeying it is usually not a good way.
Pft.
Both Socrates and Cicero(both ancient roman statesmen if didn't pay attention) believed that disobeying the law were effective ways to fight against laws you disagreed with. And believed that the more people that did it, the stronger the message you would send by using such a message to the courts, and to the government itself. There was a very long history of doing this in the republics, it died out of fashion at the end of the Roman empire it didn't really come back around until the enlightenment era.
The game is pandemic/pandemic2. Just google it. You can, the trick is to use low visibility and infect everywhere. Then unleash unholy hell.

Yeah the only problem is, if they play a console, they might just be okay with Win8.

Man you guys banned kinder toy eggs aka kinder surprise. ... And people smuggle them in from Canada, so....I guess you shouldn't have to wait too long.

Bringing billions of people around the world to the middle class is much more difficult than controlling population growth.
Better let the enlightenment period know, they want a word with you.
Oh don't worry. They go after file sharers more harshly than they do after someone murdering a few thousand people. Carry on.
Pretty much. It sure didn't work out for Blizzard, I don't know how Google thinks it's going to work out for them.
