Singapore is a pretty good option, I'm a Canuck and I've been considering it for the last couple of years. And since Iceland is considering moving to the loonie(canadian currency), I may move there if they do that too. Both are viable in my book. Considering the hassle of even traveling to the place I have in the US anymore, I've already sold my US property I was going to retire to. And here I was planning 20 years ahead, well at least I cleared an extra 100k to the bank.

Canadian culture is what Cancon tells you it is. AKA the government controlled bureaucracy. Remember, we don't have free speech here, we have limited speech(per s1 of the charter) dictated by what what the government gives you, we don't have free culture, we have culture protected and dictated to you by a "arms length" government agency. And least of all don't forget, that questioning any of this, makes you a bad canadian(according to the liberals--they did use that in a campaign about 10 years ago when the reform party pushed for reforms of cancon), probably a conservative, and thus anti-canadian.

130 years isn't enough, but it's not evidence of any problem what so ever. Don't forget that in most places, even here in the western world we've only started getting 'accurate' temprature forcasts since the 1980's in remote locations. And in the 1970's, we were still discussing island heat effects, and before that there were other issues too. To be frank and honest, every time something like this comes out and says "it's the hottest in 100 years" I kind of shurg, and remind myself that's a very small period of time. After all, the earth has been 10C warmer than it is now, and it didn't come to a screeching halt, in fact it was full of bountiful life. Well it's been warmer than that too. And still didn't come to a screeching halt.

People forget that our modern recordings of temperatures aren't accurate, at best we have 20-25 years of semi-reliable readings from within cities and major urban areas. 30ish years, of areas outside of cities and rural areas. And no one has a clue how tainted, or screwed up any of that data even is. And even in the last 10 years we have data that's still tainted and full of cherry picking, and full of hot spots because of bad stations.

As well as opening canada to more foreign business opportunities. So we can have more competition.

Unlike them AC, I don't deface a website and tear down a virtual poster. Nor do I stand up and protest outside of a building making nonsensical rants. I work within the legal framework of the country to make changes.

Obviously some of us have read a lot more history than you have. Politicians whether appointed, or elected have always worked for the people. Simply not in the way you expect, and that's the way it has been throughout history. Whether it was the front-town mayor, or magistrate. Or the regional crown. The problem that exists now, is that cronyism is far too profitable and thus is corrupting politics to the point where politicians are no longer working for the people.

You break cronyism, you break the hold that it has on things like this.

We pump that stuff at -30C to -45C(you gotta stop at -50C otherwise it just takes too long) in Canada without a problem with anti-jellers to stop it from thickening up when it hits -15C. There's no need to heat it to 60C unless you're burning it, that's what glow plugs are for at the engine, and that's to make it self-combust easier, because diesels don't use spark ignition.

Again, that's hit or miss, kind of like the "all the glaciers are going to be gone" but they're not. Acidification has been repeatedly overblown, and oddly enough the latest papers seem to point out that reefs and sea life do just fine with acidic oceans, the problem seems to be more related to...can you guess it? Pollution and UV damage.

And well, there's still plenty of debate as to whether or not there's even any extinction. Seeing as how the numbers themselves have been repeatedly been shown as fudged by a variety of environmentalist groups, and NGO's. You can't have food production and clean water, unless environmentalists are willing to let the rest of the world catch up. Which they don't seem to be willing to do, they seem much happier ensuring that 18th or earlier farming techniques remain in practice, and 8-15 kids per family is the norm.

Personally I just call you a bloody fool.

California is the 8th largest economy in the world. Period. It would be a world power on it's own.
California would do quite well on it's own given it's natural resources and it's western US shipping ports.
California sees less return on federal dollars than is taken in taxes. (Who's the parasite, again?)
California's population and land size give it country sized problems with state sized control and funds.

You mean oops my reality bias is showing?

Canada has a smaller population, and is somewhere between 7th and 10th in the worlds largest economies last time I looked.
Environmentalists ensure that california doesn't do anything with their 'natural resources' this is why they import a glut of what they use. And funny enough, they're trying the same in Canada.
If that was true, they wouldn't be have a ~370b debt as it stands now.
Canada has an excess of land and still has country and 'state' sized problems which it seems to be able to deal with effectively and well. Remember in Canadaland, territories and anything that the provinces don't deal with is the jurisdiction of the feds. That means ~60-70% of the country is run by the crown, or a crown overlay of some type with provincial representation. Remember that big economic crash a couple of years ago? I hear you guys are still a pretty tough spot. Not so much up here.
