The real problem is that any good isolation is made up of small particulate matter(asbestos, fiberglass, blown cellulose), or is made from toxic chemicals(spray foam of all types). There's no real way to get around the whole 'toxic while applying' but there are ways to mitigate the damage it can cause you while you're applying it.
Even back in the 30's through to the 50's they knew asbestos wasn't really good for you. The solution then was to use asbestos weave(bandage), which was soaked or sprayed with water to remove the possibility of getting asbestos dust(fun to point out that auto body and mechanics always did this when doing body work, or changing car brakes), it was however tougher to remove dried asbestos after doing a weld job however. Fiberglass is tougher and more water resistant, which means you need to follow with a positive or negative air flow system when you're installing it, same with blown cellulose. And foam requires a full body suit, including breathing filters or self-contained air.
Really we'd still be using asbestos if it wasn't for the scare factor. Nothing beats it as a heat barrier or an insulation. It just needs proper handling.
Actually it's very easy to keep it out of the air. Asbestos is like glass, once you break it, you get explosive contamination of it, with shards everywhere. Otherwise it's a cheap, effective, and very useful material.
No it's the subsidies that let you buy things as cheaply as you do. Otherwise in many cases no one would be farming. Then again I suppose explosive inflation is always a good thing, after all americans are deathly afraid of deflation at any price.
Huh better let the world know then. Pull out your nearest criminology book and you'll get stuff like this: ~70% of the population are thieves. 40% will steal no matter what, 30% will steal if no one is looking, and they think they can get away with it. The other 30% won't steal at all.
If what you say is true then the majority of the population are insane, crazy kleptomaniacs with no self control. Rather than people who see an opportunity to take/do/harm someone because they feel like it, and know no one will catch them doing it.
Eh I just got back from the US and decided to hit a local bestbuy when I was down there to see their display of TV's. Headaches I can manage, the 40mins of vomiting on the other hand makes it an instant no-sale.
I'm in my 30's, and I'll simply say that this is the 3rd decade where I've heard it. In the late 80's(it was printed often in compute, and commadore), in the 90's, in the 00's. And I'm sure we'll hear it again in the future. PC gaming isn't going anywhere, when a guy can setup his own dev team with a few buddies and pop out a indie game, without having to drop 50k on a SDK.
That's funny. The US enjoys yelling and whining at Canada over a myriad of issues, and we shovel processed crap from north to south for your consumption. At the end of the day we just don't care.
But unless people have failed to notice, europe(and the UK along with it) is in some pretty bad financial straights. Science is a necessary thing, but if people and government has to take the pick between funding science or covering things like civil protection(police), medical/fire services(hospitals, doctors, ems response). It's pretty easy to tell where the cuts are going to happen first.
Usually science, followed by teachers and police, followed by fire services, then medical.
How did this even get to insightful? Even the bureaucratic handlers are liberal appointees. You want to whine, try blaming them for 20 years of mismanagement.
Kill the fungus, they can survive to repopulate hives if they have the virus. Really all that needs to be developed is a weak fungicide that targets it, and that's not as hard as it sounds. Either that or you find queens that have survived a collapse and breed them with normal bees, who haven't developed an immunity.
I'm also going to say, the whole "RF/Secretgovernment testing/out to destroy us all" conspiracy theories have once again proven to what they are. Bullshit.
Well in one case you're paying for a service where you're already using a pseudonym, and in the other case you're not. Blizz's idea was that outting everyone is a great idea(minus the downside that doing such is well, illegal in several countries like Canada, and Germany) along with several states in the US. In this case, they've simply said no more anon comments. Not that it makes much of a difference, since most people who are interested in commenting, don't read and post via wirefeeds. But rather to select forums where they can debate the topic.
For example, if I see something interesting and want to comment I'm more likely to go read the The Globe and Mail, National Post or the CBC and comment/debate/etc.
Well if that's so much of a problem, I suggest that he can come to Canada. Where the accuser has to prove justifiable libel and slander in court for it to stick.
Actually I'd say it's much closer that the IPCC is trying to set agenda which will cover it's own, as well as make specific individuals an ass tone of money.
If you've been paying attention to the news or your papers the last while, you'd find that the majority of what the IPCC writes is junk full of factual and scientific errors. And shouldn't be used for anything but bird droppings. Take, leave, I couldn't care. But the second that the guys in climate research start going 'lulul sun has nothing to do with global warming,' I just want to start beating my head against the wall.
Oh and recent paper came along "sun has major impact on climate" ah whatever.
I will say that HUD's are nice, very nice. Expensive as hell, but very nice. You're easily looking at paying 4x the amount for a windshield replacement if that ever cracks too. But yeah, too much crap? Too much of a pain, then again not enough of a distraction you're more likely to fall asleep(see the area between London and Windsor).
Kinda moot, but oil's been leaking in the gulf for the last who knows how many thousands of years. Life there has adapted to it, there's no shortage of studies on that.
There is, it's called neighborhood watch and CoP(citizens on patrol). Both are used in Canada and the US. But expect it to increase as cities, towns, and counties continue to cut their police budgets these days.
Then you should also know that the only reliable way to keep a battery system from getting to a 'no start' state is to use an external thermal heater on the batter, plus lots of insulation around it. Then pray it doesn't get too hot to damage the life of the batter.
Once you get out of Southern Ontario, all bets are off to whether a battery will work properly even while insulated.
...otherwise we'd have car bombs and Jihadists everywhere. After all, you don't see evangelical Christians blowing up Planned Parenthoods and headshotting abortion doctors every day, do you?
Dunno. We're pushing nearly 18k terrorist attacks by muslims since 9/11, that's quite a few. And if you take a look in various parts of the APCR where it's supposed to be moderate, you sure do see a lot of jihadi's, public whipping, and 'ankle' laws.
And well, you don't. Mostly because mainstream christianty keeps evangelical's in check, they might spout the crazy but the rest don't let them go any further.
Except that you know in places where it actually gets cold. EV's are useless, you won't get even 20mi out of a battery in the middle of a normal canadian winter.
Well...yes, at least on most modern cars unless it's a 1-2v trickle, otherwise you're likely to turn around and nuke the computer(s) from orbit, even though they're on a protected circuit. But I'm guessing you haven't seen the size of the average battery pack on a ev car. They weigh around 450lbs, and a 6v mini-cell doesn't have the amperage to get you going anywhere.
That's funny. I can't remember the last time Israel threatened to vaporize everyone in the middle east, europe or the US and Canada. But Iran has, and Pakistan has openly threatened to nuke India on several occasions. Israel seems quite happy to follow the MAD doctrine(considering arab nations have launched 6-8 wars of extermination against it in the last 70 years), and arab nations are happy to let everything burn including themselves.

We use it every day, it's called 'pink' or fiberglass. And it's just as dangerous as asbestos when not used with proper breathing equipment.
Actually it's very easy to keep it out of the air. Asbestos is like glass, once you break it, you get explosive contamination of it, with shards everywhere. Otherwise it's a cheap, effective, and very useful material.

I suppose that's easy to say when you have a full stomach, live in a house, and don't have to worry where your next meal is coming from.

You could always take off the blinders, but that would mean you'd also have to read the article and people who post comments on aggregate sites like /.

But seriously....I wish there was a US version.
There is, it's called neighborhood watch and CoP(citizens on patrol). Both are used in Canada and the US. But expect it to increase as cities, towns, and counties continue to cut their police budgets these days.
Movie trolls running wild? I can't say, but it sure seems like people only want...
Michael Bay - XplosionsX! For their plots.

Your thinking, doesn't hold water in reality.
