you think we haven't been doing our due diligence in researching giving up our US citizenship?
Apparently so, otherwise you'd know that it takes upwards of 20 years to get citizenship in Canada. That's on average 5 years longer then it takes in the US with the exceptionally loose immigration policies you now have.
"Anti-white racism"..... trying to push some hot buttons here, I see. Is that you, Doug? The real problem with the provincial Liberals is financial accountability. As a Canadian, I'm embarrassed by your posts. As an Ontarian, I'm embarrassed by Doug Ford (leader of provincial Conservative Party, for those of you not literate in Canadian provincial politics).
Haven't actually been paying attention to politics have you? Maybe you'd like to explain why the provincial government directly pushed policies that punish whites. Then you can explain why the liberals both provincially and federally have been using statements that if you flipped with "black" would have them blasted as racist. I'm far more disgusted with your post, and the fundamental ignorance you've just displayed.
Doesn't seem so. He was already moving in that direction before the supposed meeting with Xi happened. Remember? He met apparently with Xi after this talk by the N.Koreans happened. Now what was very interesting was China hosting Trump in the forbidden city. That doesn't happen, he was the first foreign leader to ever visit it. On top of that there was an armored train from N.Korea to China a day or so before Trump went there. It's more likely that there was some serious stuff between all parties involved there as there was zero media allowed in. This makes me believe that the 'first ever trip' was more likely a 'second visit trip' to shake it all out with the Chinese.
Look at this statement:
Ripley quoted a North Korean official who had optimistic words about the move: "Finally Kim Jong Un has decided to open up," the source said. "This is a new chapter for the DPRK. He has committed himself to the path of denuclearization and will now focus solely on economic growth and the national economy. Finally he has realized the best path forward is to open up the country and normalize relations."
That statement is fundamentally at odds with even Chinese policy regarding N.Korea as they want it as a buffer against S.Korea.
Looks like you got pretty triggered. Those "social democracies" aren't doing very hot these days, then again most people also enjoy things like "freedom of speech" instead of "the right not to be offended." Boy oh boy, you sure love the government when it turns around and controls your life, and all that. But it takes some pretty tiny balls to call someone a fascist when you're actually supporting it.
Yeah you also probably believe that Venezuela was a socialist paradise until it failed. And you'll probably screech that "people were just too stupid, and communism *still* hasn't been done properly.
Have you been paying attention to the politics out of Toronto(Ontario) and federally by the Liberal Party the last few years? The anti-white racism being pushed by both parties, is part and parcel the same being pushed by progressives in the US. Look at it this way, the policies of the Ontario Liberal Party and their actions have likely just killed their party. The Progressive Conservatives have moved into a likely super-majority status in the legislature with an estimated 85-98 seats. The NDP manage to hold on and maintain party status with 8 or more seats and gain official opposition status. The liberals hold 7 or less seats. 8 are required to be considered an official party and receive any government funding.
What's being played out is no different the the collapse of the Progressive Conservatives federally in the early 90's.
Australia and NZ also have similar systems, but progressives in the US claim that it's racist for Trump wanting to have it as you pointed out. But they'll laud the immigration system in all three countries as great. Considering the absolute shitshow going on up here in Canada right now? There's a lot of angry people, and you're hearing a lot of "maybe Japans immigration system is better."
Wrong. Medical decisions are triaged by government, and they can and do refuse medical treatment for people. On top of that healthcare is fully rationed depending on a persons need for it. There's a court case at the Supreme Court of Canada right now about a guy being denied treatment, and the only other effective option he was given was medically assisted suicide despite his desire to live.
In Canada, speaking French requires fluency at a grade 12 level, unless you're from an undeveloped county. You also have to be able to write at the same level for it to apply. MD's are hard capped in Canada, and if you're using that as a basic you *must* take residency in the province or territory you're assigned to. You also must retake various tests to gain the right to open a practice in the province you're assigned to. That means, you might have your heard and dreams set on Toronto(ON) or Vancouver(BC), but you might be assigned to far northern Alberta with 3hrs of sunlight in the winter and 21hrs of daylight in the summer and be 12hrs from a city larger then 8k people for up to 5 years. You'll also have to re-take engineering certification tests here in Canada.
Facebook and Twitter are private corporations. Now, I don't get the memos on how you right-wingers are supposed to think (I never even receive the memos to me as a leftist), but I thought you liked free enterprise and wanted regulation to be limited. Social media profits depend on what they permit and what they don't. In the meantime, if you don't like what they don't let you say, it's really easy to set up your own site. Contrast this with the situation when I was a kid, and it was very difficult to get your views any sort of hearing if the MSM didn't cooperate.
Are you now trying to say that Facebook and Twitter are universities? Or did you not bother reading? "No platforming" is a near exclusive to university campuses. That's the thing we're talking about here, or have you missed it.
I don't really understand your final paragraph. I don't see the antecedent for "this" in "this is all acceptable", and Democrats are not very uniform in beliefs. "I belong to no organized political party. I am a Democrat." - Will Rogers. I also don't quite understand what you mean by "insular view", or why you think you understand US politics better than I do.
That'd be the point where you don't seem to be paying attention to the leadership of the democrats and the views that they promote. If you're a democrat, then you fall under those beliefs. Sorry if you don't like it, on the other hand if you're not supporting those views that the democrat are promoting you're not a democrat. This is your own self-labeling in action.
The right is trying to invent terms like "feminist math" to describe actual math that comes to conclusions and proofs that hurt their feelings
Oh child. You've only proven yourself to be an idiot. Sorry, but the left, feminists, "black rights" groups already have you beat. It's almost like you can't realize that you're part of the same group of people trying to destroy western civilization.
Thing was it wasn't just that industry publishing it. It was mass-reams of nutritional scientists stating the same thing. It's right in line with all those kids who drank sugary drinks in the 50's and 60's but now kids are suddenly overweight, but they never thought of the reason why. Sitting on your ass all day does have consequences, especially when government itself pushed the "keep your kids inside" bullshit.
Just have your bacon and eggs, and use the bacon fat for other cooking too. Be happy.
Considering various groups pushing intersectionality have been pushing this hard for the last few years? Sounds about right, so far we've got "feminist math" "black science" demands to "decolonize various STEM fields" and so on. Just remember the rabbit hole isn't what you're looking into, it's already here.
Because it is clickbait. The current media is fully driven by it, it's also the reason why the quality is so low. It's not about quality, but quantity and how they can draw eyeballs in for revenue via ads.
. As long as platforms are available, and they continued to be, that doesn't suppress free speech. You right-wingers are far too hung up on regulating private institutions to spend limited resources on carrying your messages.
Those are *public* institutions.
Political parties, with their detestable "free speech zones". This was bipartisan. The case I'm most familiar with (having lived in the metro area at the time) was a Republican convention, but Democrats did it also.
Amero-centric view that's out of touch within their own country, colour me shocked.
I really don't think the Republicans involved called themselves SJWs.
They didn't. But democrats including key member of the democrat leadership at both the state and federal level have openly voiced their views that this is all acceptable. I'm not sure what's worse, that you have such an insular view, or that someone that lives in America's Hat, has a better and clearer view on the state of US politics, speech, and assembly. It's actually far worse in Canada, if you need a summery go look up the Lindsay Shepard saga.
Could be. My main claim to be a hipster is that I was a nerd and a geek before it was fashionable. When I want to be cool, I turn the thermostat down.
Well SJW as a pejorative is about 4 years old now, and you can find people using in that term instead of "politically correct nut" so if you wanted to be a hipster on it you'd have to go back at least 5-6 years when it was just starting to catch on in various political forums and chan circles.
I find your "until their actions started to have an impact on society in a negative way" unconvincing, given that I don't trust the people who now use it as a perjorative to tell positive from negative changes in a way I find convincing.
Ask yourself who were pushing no-platforming. The groups pushing anti-speech zones. Demanding safe spaces, and shutting down events like MRA's discussing law. Those people all called themselves SJW's or advocates of social justice. All of those actions I mentioned have had a negative impact on society, either stifling speech, restricting public assembly, causing venues to refuse to cater to particular groups for fear of vandalism.
Except he's right in this case. This isn't a chasing after the item that caused the issue like what you mean with guns and knives eliminating murder. This is a case where a group/individual/company is acting in a way that's negative on society as a whole. Don't forget it was just a few years ago that media, psychologists, governments and so on were pushing the "if you don't have social media, you're a rapist/pedophile/terrorist/etc." The violation of privacy can be solved by law, by requiring clear and concise requirements. In the US you already see this with health information. Nearly all western countries have a broad privacy protection law of some kind, the US is the odd one out.
Keep in mind that privacy rights have not kept pace with changing technology. The base is already there, fixing the existing law will solve the problem.
Yep. Not only is it fast to get done, but if you need reading glasses they can even put in new lenses that fall into the multi-focal range. My dad had his eyes done a few years ago at 60ish, for him it was pretty much a life changing event especially since his eyes had gotten so bad he couldn't even go star gazing anymore.
The big problem I'm seeing these days though is with all the new LED lights, they're mounted high on poles and seem to be angled so that they blind you when you're approaching them. I get that white light is supposed to be the new-hot thing and all that, but hearing what some of the truck drivers even those in their early 20's go on about they wish they'd bring back the low-pressure sodium lights that were orange. Round that out with the HiD lighting on a lot of the newer cars, there's an awful lot of stuff on the road that will blind you.
in Canada, the supply of health care is distributed by a medical triage system
It's also distributed by availability of care, open bed spaces, and whether or not you can survive a week or longer. That lists everything roughly for Ontario. By the way, 11 hours for a "complex" medical emergency is considered acceptable here. Though sometimes you get lucky, and it's only minutes. Again 100% based on availability.
In any of the wait cases you have described, the only reason you would ever have to wait so long is that is was not deemed a medical emergency. If you need an MRI, cancer treatment, or bypass immediately, it will happen immediately.
Oh boy. Should I put you in touch with someone I know who waited 6 weeks for a CT, and 4 months for a MRI after he had a serious head injury, a head injury where the x-ray showed two fractures in his skull, and had open signs of serious damage to the occipital lobe. Maybe you can explain to him how that didn't happen, and despite the orders of multiple attending physicians that both were immediately required, it did not happen. I'll even give you a hint, workmans comp was involved. And the employer he was working for was a "big name" in the industry he was working in. But you know what pisses me more off about that then anything else? He's still fighting workmans comp, the employer lied on the accident report. He can't work, but disability states he's "disabled" but denies payments. And we've had the same government in power during the entire time from when he was injured to, today and he's still getting screwed. The worst of it? The government in power wants to allow "refugees" in with serious medical conditions and give them disability and welfare. One of the opposition parties wants to go even further and create an entirely new disability section for those refugees so they can stay on the dole forever.
If you need cancer treatment? Get the fuck in line, that's how it works. Average wait time in most of Ontario is 20-29 days to see a specialist. It's another 20-51 days before any type of treatment will start. Bypass immediately? Very much depends on where you are. You can be having a massive heart attack, and require an immediate bypass and wait a week. Sometimes you can get lucky, like my friends wife who was diagnosed in Woodstock requiring immediate surgery, but they still transferred her to Waterloo Regional for it.
So why did I start hearing "SJW" from people who dislike us? Suddenly, it was there, it was perjorative, and I was one.
Maybe you weren't paying attention? It was "social justice" advocates that started using the term SJW and it was very popular for several years. That was until their actions started to have an impact on society in a negative way, now SJW means a "a person who advocates for social justice, and virtue signaling that has a negative impact on society." Now it's the common lexicon and regular people use it. That pejorative was created all by the actions of the people and views you support.
Warren tried to use "hot racial idea of the day" as an attempt to sell herself to a group of people as a political motivator aka vote favoritism. That's about as sleazy and low as you can get, besides people like Shaun King, or Rachel Dolezal.
you think we haven't been doing our due diligence in researching giving up our US citizenship?

What do you mean did nothing? Obama started more wars then Bush, and committed extra-judicial killings as state policy. We're on a role here.
Doesn't seem so. He was already moving in that direction before the supposed meeting with Xi happened. Remember? He met apparently with Xi after this talk by the N.Koreans happened. And watch the media spin like GE's finest turbines.
They should invite Obama and ask him to bring his peace prize. Rip it out of his hands, give it to Trump and apologize for being partisan hacks.

Yeah, those 19 days of the year are the best, aren't they?
Sure are. That's why when people joke "Canada has two seasons, Winter and Summer." It isn't a joke, it's been 8 months of straight winter.
Because it is clickbait. The current media is fully driven by it, it's also the reason why the quality is so low. It's not about quality, but quantity and how they can draw eyeballs in for revenue via ads.
