i don't think it's possible to put a value on any one life, since there are way too many unknown quantities.
however, i don't buy into the "everyone is equal" bs either. some people are better than others. face it folks, there are some pretty scummy people. to say that they're equal to me or you is an insult.
but we cant base right or wrong in killing someone based on that. as i said, there are too many unknowns that could affect this persons "worth" in the future.
human life really isn't too valuable. it's constantly (too constantly?) replinished resource. i do not advocate capital punishment in any way, but for the sake of argument, does killing off the "less valuable" humans increase the value of the the species as a whole? quality over quantity.
is "YOU ARE COMMANDED to..." an absolute thing, or are there methods for appealing the scope, fifth amendment caveats, or can any judge just order anything they want from me.
apparently, no one reads the article or the comments they're moderating anymore
1) *nix only. That doesn't sell copies, since everyone else is using Windows. This is the #1 way to cut out a gigantic market demographic for software developers these days, especially when we're talking about desktop software.
PlanMaker is not only available for Linux, but has versions for Windows, Pocket PCs and Handheld PCs as well...
it's simple. we live (US) in a violence-soaked culture, where guns and ammo are (some of) the tools that contribute to the mayhem.
guns should be sold at gun stores, or by those with a gun permit. no retail stores. it's fucking ridiculous that i have to go to a special government run or licensed store to buy some liquor, but i can go to any pawn shop, walmart or look thru newspaper classifieds and buy a deadly weapon that is meant for killing.
quit hiding behind and twisting the second amendment into some latently homoerotic gun-nut fantasy world where everyone needs to be packing and gas stations should sell bullets.
definitely not the first, but my phone (and countless others) shows a menu for profile select if you touch the power button, and shuts the phone off if you hold it....
The only problem is that the general public will not read the source. They will just remain paranoid, because many cannot understand the source.
i believe that ignorance and the lack of motivation to learn is a very poor excuse...however some of us can understand the source right now, and the say-so of the learned will be what those who don't read the source have to go on. i myself don't plan on doing this - i have far too many other pressing things.
Another potential problem is someone altering the source to skew the results.
md5 for source packages, and only get it from a reputable source or mirror...:)
is silly. his reasons are clear - he's taking care of what comes first, his family. i have to assume that > 70% of you have no idea what kind of responsibility and self-sacrifice is required of parents of small children, but maybe someday you will...
this man deserves a pat on the back as he leaves, not a finger in the air...
i still own a Commodore 64 with a 1541 floppy drive.
i'd like to see how google sets works, myself...
oddly i know someone who was in the appropriate technology program at humboldt, maybe you know him? (cough)

he's got your yum-yum. don't deny that you know *exactly* what that means... :)
you do want your yum-yum, don't you?
wrong. a lot of cars have a heater which can be plugged into an electrical outlet, keeping the engine relatively warm.
what i'm basically asking is this:

is there any way to avoid, get around, circumvent, ignore a federal subpeona.
just for future reference...
killing is wrong. rat, dog, human - it doesn't matter.
especially for frivolous and deadly activites like landmine detection.
...about tv signals interfering with my wireless.

if you're that concerned about spyware, READ THE *SOURCE* and see what it does!
it's not like you're being asked to install a random binary and run it 24/7....
