With a pencil & paper RPG requires talking and interacting with other players in real life, but playing NWN, even online does not. You interact completly with a keyboard, mouse and computer screen, it does not matter if you throw a tantrum when your char dies. Even if you are playing in the same room on games like NWN, all the interaction is done via the computer (i remember playing at a UO friends once, I was chatting in the game to someone in the same room as me!)
Its a Scienceitifly proven fact that all terrorists don't eat ham and pinnaple pizza, instead go for crappy flavours like Tuna and Sweetcorn! So remember all, next time you are at a LAN party, and some sick terrorist bastard orders tuna and sweetcorn, kill the fucker, for [Queen and] Country.

There was JQuake, fantastic. Multiplayer Quake action in an apple, alass it's gone down now [ was http://hem.passagen.se/carebear/fragisland.htm ] Ahh the hours at Uni on an old sun pizza box playing this....
By the Code and all that is buggy, fp's are really getting not just old, but really really lame.
Why in the world would I spend 2k on a player that will not let me make copies? As they'll stop making VHS? You know they will, look at audio tapes now, can you buy one, well maybe just, if your'll lucky, same with LP's, and the only reason you can still get them, is "collects value".
VHS will be killed, and it'll be DVD vs D-VHS (for home-video's, PC-DVD is going to be about for a bit), now lets watch the fight, and download 'em of GNUtella...
The lunacy just never ends! maybe we should just nuck the moon...
Does anything like this exist currently? Yeap, there are tools/setups for linux (& the BSDs) that will work with brail terminals, and text-to-speach terminals (actual boxes, not software).
I know the author did not like 1-file-per-email, but then when used with a VERY good fs (like BFS) it's a very effective method of storeing email. You don't store the subject, date, other metadata in the text file, but in the attributes.
I've been working on this for some time, time is the big problem. For a "Sim" time is (almost) realtime For a "building Manager" is much faster, day being a few mins. For a "Mayor" time is much quicker again, a month being a few mins. For a "King" time is much quicker again, a year being a few mins. For a "God" time is much quicker again, a centry being a few mins.
The only way to do it is turn based, a Sim playing in "realtime", while the rest take x turns a day.

It's Douglas Adams joke.
There is a Java email server witch uses a JDBC to store the emails.
It was pritty funky, google Java EMail Server...

true, each does have it's place, but I wish someone would wake up are make a new revo-a-like :(
Mlk, stuck with a mono screen... but then two weeks of battrey life (even with NetHack instelled);)
what I want from a keyboard has already been done, it's just a few years (and 200MHz to slow).
This might be fine for a quick email, but I'm not going to be able to write a document on it (which is what I can do with my Revo).

I wish when they say "build in keyboard" they MENT a build in keyboard, not "some crappy small usable thing that kind-of looks like a keyboard".
Either way the timing makes the game darn near impossable.
You can only really do a few levels, say
* Ants
* Sims
* Building Mangers
