Is the buyer really going to come back and demand a refund when it doesn't work?
No, but it would be impossible to sell him a bigger list if the test account comes up empty. No one who would give any real good price for a large 'batch' of accounts would start out by 'testing' a 'supplier'. It shouldn't be surprising that, even to criminals, guaranteed results have a monetary value.
e.g. If you stole an apartment super's keyring, you could break into each home yourself. However few pickpockets like yourself have the stones for burglary, so instead you sell them to someone who will. If you sold fake keys, you might get a buyer now and again, maybe it'd even be worth the trouble. Working keys could actually generate a biding war.
If we're going to do fantasy heroes, the patron saint of engineers, Commander Scott would have fixed it in an about 20 minutes. Sadly, we've somehow come to expect it in real life, but the truth is that only perpetration could have helped this problem after the failure of inadequate standard procedures.

I mean, what if that BP truck driver falls asleep at the wheel and kills a family of 4? That's on me, right?
Yes, it would be, but only if your negligent business decision made the event happen; like demanding an exceedingly long work day, crazy shift work, or revolving door employment.
...get Apple moving with Flash after everyone sees how wonderful it is.
Not everyone agrees that ending Flash's iron grip on video on the web would be a bad thing. Locked systems like Flash are good (sometimes) for fast adaption periods, but often fail to progress technologically long term; while becoming a cost prohibitive hindrance in a growingly commodified market.
maybe. I'm rooting for Apple on this one, but in corporate power plays, consumer benefit is usually only a low occurring side effect.
We have homes with electricity and connectivity (telephone, cable, etc) already. Also, while not labeled as 'an internet cafe' plenty of places have WiFi.
If they go to news sites all they see is how bad their continent is compared to the rest of the world, at least if the BBC, Reuters, CNN, etc... have anything to say on that.
So like you'd prefer if they didn't know how good you have it, maybe you're worried they be coming to steal your stuff.:)
The shipping container is a gimmick, but access to communications and information is a very good thing.
The democrats did exactly the same thing when they were backed into a tight minority in the 90s
Really? No Senate has had the filibuster used so frequently.
It's the standard Republican excuse for bad behavior "The Demo-rats are as bad or worse!". If pressed they can rarely give an example arguably equal, within the same decade, or factually correct.
First of all the shuttle is not just a passenger, it really is part of the launch system. The big thing in the middle is the external fuel tank for the shuttle's engines, reconfiguring it might sound easy, but it isn't.
Also, the shuttle system isn't big enough for a Trans Lunar Injection. For that we need a super heavy lift, like the Saturn V, but bigger as the plan called for 4 people on the surface rather than 2.
Bush Administration budgets never funded the new super-heavy lift, nor the lunar lander, or even the service module. Obama would have had to double the budget, just to start the real work. After that there would have been no money to help the budding private space industry.
I always heard that if you overstay your visa that you'd be prohibited from even returning once you left the country. Seems to me that your friend should be listening to an immigration attorney, and not some political hack taking random calls (or an apocryphal story).
They bought a controller specifically that looked like a real gun, so the 3 year old was used to handling it. It would be interesting to know how many TVs are lost for the same reason.
It's a sad, sad story, the DA should take a long hard look at the guy, but throwing him in jail might not be the answer. However at the very least he should be doing gun safety training for the rest of his miserable life.
Someone who wanted to pull a couple of hundred processors out of the supply chain. By making fake boxes and shipping them they might be able to hide at what point they were stolen.
So, you have problems with the UI packages, not a surprise it's always been one of the weakest parts of Java. However, I'm not sure how you'd compare it to python's built in UI, or perl's for that matter:). I'm guessing that you had just tried a Java solution for a problem you couldn't solve in python or perl.
Client side Java (applets) solutions, have always had many more problems than server side Java projects, and many use other UI platforms (like Eclipse's RCP). Everything from browser integration to how the UI behaves on various platforms have caused trouble for applet developers; it's one of the reasons why Flash is so widely installed.
You're trying imagine shapes in clouds, there is no context. Video conference call, maybe? Also, could be synchronization, or backups. Spooky garbage for the tin foil hat crowd, I hear theres a good business in it these days. It's an ad for a 3D graphing service.
They think 'Everyone will want to know I watched Top Model tonight, and 90210 and Gossip Girl last night.'
No, they think that everyone who follows them will want to see such posts, and why shouldn't they, isn't that what the service is about?
A tweet about a TV show becomes a shared event, shared events are a basic form of human interaction. I don't text much, mostly just SMS with the gf, or ex. I tend to type longer ones, rarely resorting to 'lol' or 'OMG', but it does help make a connection, and I'm not tied up with a phone call. Heck, I'm sure that mass transit has fewer cell phone talkers since texting started taking off; you should try to look for the good in change rather than the just the bad.
Also, there hasn't been a generation where some of the older people loudly complain that the young people who follow them are lazy, unmotivated, and narcissistic. Congratulations, you're a stereotype!
There's stories where people joined companies and rose to the ranks of massive alliances, just so they could close the alliance and screw everyone ever. To top it off, there's not a single thing you could do about it.
Undoing a moderation misfire, I tried, insightful and got redundant. It amazed me that this was marked troll, but maybe the other guy did the same thing.
With the 3GS I'm on my second iPhone, and the only improvement I could see for it (besides better battery life), is to make it water proof, or at least moderately water resistant.
Can't the administrator use the same hack to change the password again, regaining access?
For the same reason why this crack only locks out an administrator, rather than capturing the account; one would have to encrypt their new password using the same algorithm as the application.
what does this device do that Natal doesn't have the capability to do?
Not sure what Natal is, but does it collect data on the occupants of a room and upload it to a remote system? If so, then yes they should be equally worried.
Haven't RTFA of course, but I could see this mostly being used with Nielson style services, perhaps with the 'let us spy on you, and get a discount on TV service. However, the only way that I'd do it is if I could see exactly what the device sends, and even then I'd probably not trust the system well enough to be 'honest' about it's communications.
As for blaming Republicans for the economic mess, the media did a very good job of ensuring that in the election despite the fact Democrats were the ones who pushed banks to make loans to poor people who couldn't pay them back.
Sure keep up the tired over used 'media attacks', and for the record, it was an unstable derivatives market which was destroyed the credit market, not the loans themselves. They essentially 'laundered' high risk loans into more stable securities. However, you're still counting on a certain number of people who would take your account of the problem. Well, lots of the middle class and 'up' got positively 'giddee' over 'flipping', and it's really hard to sell a simple answer blaming loans for poor people when a foreclosed mcMansion is common sight. Besides, it's just another way of blaming Clinton, which is also a tired right wing meme. Kinda like saying "ALL YOUR BASES BELONG TO US" as your reply to everything and always expecting to get a laugh.
Good luck with your prediction that Hillary will challenge a sitting President Obama for the party nomination. Fantasy is a fine genre, but you'll need a lot better story. Jimmy Carter is a fine man, who had no real aptitude for being a presidential figure.
[President Obama] constantly makes mistakes that make him look in over his head, from sending Clinton to do his work for him with North Korea to backing his friends whenever they get in trouble with the police.
"Does the sun ever shine during a Democratic administration? With Obama in office now when babies laugh do you hear only the sound of kittens drowning?" - Jon Stewart
While I agree that adding a presidential comment to the situation wasn't great, his recovery was both subtle and memorable. Beside I've never understood why you'all didn't take Gates' side? The guy was arrested after proving himself the homeowner. I'm guessing that 'conservatives' such as yourself believe that only white men should feel secure when legally occupying their own home. Perhaps if he was arrested while packing a gun, then you might have some sympathies.
Before you can sell anyone on Bill Clinton's recent trip being a Obama failure, you'll have to explain why it's anything but a raging success. Ok, Bill Clinton former United States President, husband of the sitting Secretary of State flies into a country lead by a whiskey swilling madman, and walks out with two freshly pardoned journalists. All NK has to show for it is an official fully scowling picture of him. Man that took big brass balls, in particular as we are still technically at war with them. Sure you can spin a tale of 'weakness', but most who would appreciate the nuance of such an stance would also know that it's bull shit.
Who says... Linux is hard to use?
Lots of people do, they're wrong of course, but somehow that doesn't seem to stop them from saying it.

Furthermore, bad will always win because good is dumb.
Nice saying, but if you need an excuse for being bad, you're not doing it right.
