No LAN play, which is about half your complaint (although it's only #5, most of the rest of the text is then about the inconveniences this causes) is not DRM. It's simply no LAN play.
The forcing of players to be online where gameplay does not require, for the sole reason of preventing piracy, is Digital Rights Management in the fullest sense.
Yes that is what I meant. Poorly worded on my part. Scum = islamists. Its family = women and children they hide behind. I was looking at diagrams and images of the compound and trying to figure out where this helicopter might have been blown up.
Given the nature of how details emerge, it seems possible to me they landed in an adjacent or nearby field and stormed walls. The pictures released from today don't show any damage I can see.
This obviously has benefits to society but comes at the cost of making your home network less secure - most routers don't separate the internet side of things from the home network side of things, so it's similar to allowing a person to connect their PC to your LAN socket. Any machines on your network are now visible to an attacker.
Many newer routers support guest SSIDs that can have separate security settings, and are isolated from, your main SSID. My new Netgear router does this. What it doesn't do, unfortunately, is let me throttle the guest SSID.
Because this is the equivalent of claiming that "Bob's Toy Store" infringes on your trademark for "Toy Store." You shouldn't have to check first on something so generic.
Wouldn't you be upset if you found out that you were carrying around a location logger for the last year? Law enforcement doesn't have to subpoena anything, it's all right there within reach if you are arrested for anything. I am not paranoid about US law enforcement in general, I just don't feel this is necessary and has the potential to be easily abused.
This only holds up if you assume that "How do I pay for my kids' braces?" or "How can I make a living off the labor of others?" are not satisfying problems to solve.
This one leaves me unimpressed. It's more of a puppet show with some random steel balls rolling around and water being poured. The really captivating RG machines use everyday objects and simple geometrical shapes to achieve complex interactions.
Yes, people can be stupid. The problem is that if you don't see the stupidity in your own culture, you're ignorant. If you see it in other cultures, you're, what, racist?
I love how you find a way to blame this on Fox News and Glen Beck. Yes, the reason that the US doesn't produce as many innovations is because of a cable news channel and a talk show host.
Regarding female characters, the only one whose role was increased for the movie was Arwen. Galadriel and Eowyn were very significant female characters in the books.
Other than the part where Eowyn almost single-handedly (with an assist from Merry) frags both the Witch King and his flying mount, you're right.
I want to buy one and love it, but I can't afford it and I'm pretty certain the 3D would bother my eyes for anything other than very short stints. Plus, I jumped on the DS bandwagon a few months after the Lite was released, and by that time there were a lot of great games for the system. I think I'll do the same here: wait for a hardware revision/price drop ($180 plz) and a decent library.
What I find ironic is that by blasting stuff into the sun, we might just be able to 'push it over that hill' in a manner that won't be an issue for literally billions of years.
The sun is already trying to kill us, I don't think a few thousand tons of heavy metals would make much difference.
She could have just said, "QQ" instead of "Chinese QQ". A person's definition of the 'Other' is part of what defines or even constitutes the self. It is the process by which societies and groups exclude 'Others' who do not fit into their society. Othering helps distinguish between home and away, the uncertain or certain.
And yet YOU are the one who created the association between "Chinese" and "strange and weird" in the minds of slashdotters everywhere where no such association had existed.
Oh, and nice racism there, calling QQ "Chinese", thus implying it is strange and weird. (The technical term is "Orientalism" - implying that "the East" is antithetical to "the West".) QQ has been in use for ages. It is very big in South Africa...uh-oh, South Africa has a lot of black people. Yikes, when we start stereotyping, it's a minefield!
But none of them allow me to lie down on the couch and ready a PDF book comfortably. Or take with me when I go on a trip in much the same way I'd take a book.
iPads are surprisingly heavy and may not be as comfortable as you think for reading. Even the second generation ones are only a couple ounces lighter. Also, you can't really read them outside in the sun. Better than laptops, but not ideal. Perhaps you see where I'm going with this: you may want a dedicated e-reader instead.

I just meant that terrorists like to hide behind women and children. I'm not sure what you read into my comment.
I wonder if the "window shaking bang" caused more casualties after the SEALs left? This type of scum loves to put its family in danger.

That's ridiculous. Apple did not coin the word "app." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/App
You buy things in a store.
That Apple didn't name it something more unique before popularizing it doesn't mean they have rights over the basic terms.

The reward of solving a problem...
This only holds up if you assume that "How do I pay for my kids' braces?" or "How can I make a living off the labor of others?" are not satisfying problems to solve.
but I might want that to be with standard Linux apps instead of only with Android.
Why? Wouldn't most Linux (or even Windows) apps be a huge pain to use on just a touch screen?
Did you see the part where it's called a "Transformer" because there is a detachable keyboard/battery?
See also: compact mobile routers. You could use both your laptop and your tablet at the same time.

Remember, a movie's sole purpose is to put asses in seats.
There is also a smaller set of films that get made as director ego or studio prestige films. You know, audiences-be-damned Oscar bait.
The US swore to destroy the evil empire that was the USSR, The UN should go into the US and take all of their weapons of mass destruction ASAP.
Bringing down a political structure and eliminating an entire people group are more than a little bit different.
I can't stand Fox and I can't stand Beck. But you're the one who brought them up in a completely unrelated discussion.

Because people will carry on advancing long after that attitude and the empire which now worships it have enjoyed a well-deserved Ozymandian death.
Which death is that again? The psychic squid or the glowing blue naked guy?
There's no excuse anymore to not have an automated backup system in place.
How about this one: My date is pretty worthless, even to me.
I want to buy one and love it, but I can't afford it and I'm pretty certain the 3D would bother my eyes for anything other than very short stints.
