    Question is, will this really make any difference at all? Not likely... these companies have their minds made up that the internet(s) is(are) the cause. It's interesting that someone had the balls to write it up especially in an economical media outlet but it won't change anything.
    Not a real shocker but nice to be higher profile.

    Trips that would last thousdands of years... according to our current technology, yes.
    Nevermind that there are working models of ways to travel to Mars in about 90 days... Plasma sails and the like. You have to remember that every year we discover something that pushes us even further ahead than we thought possible before.
    Decode the human genome?! That'll take 100 years!

    You're not alone with thinking FFX was great. I was kind of leery at first but it was a great game. The battle system was awesome, and it may have been linear but there are so many secrets and stuff that you don't notice really.
    FFX-2 is not a real serious game, it's fun but X is just alot more involved.

    I didn't know Quebec was part of Canada...j/k :)

    When I was living in Ottawa, I worked in Quebec. (got a wicked tax break). Just walking across that bridge you can tell the difference. Quebec is a very different province from all the others.
    They have different laws! Don't turn right on a red or they'll beat your ass, well unless you say something like "Excusez-moi" :)

    Ya, people would always look at me like i'm crazy. I'd say that a TV is on in that other room, but no one could hear any noise. It's just a high pitched whine, like an electrical sound.
    I just never really thought about it i suppose. Glad to see i'm not the only freak tho ;)

    That CRT thing is more of a feeling than a hearing tho, I have the same problem. I can hear that noise before the actualy sound on a TV, through walls and all. It's very distinctive. I thought i was the only one that could do that :)

    But technically, if someone decided to make the virus malicious and mail itself out first before injecting the damaging code...then you can have a Code Red that kills machines.
    Although, like a poster below, the data changing aspect would be a more annoying bug.

    I'm just saying that MS can be made to look real bad in the eyes of corporations. Mind you, the person responsible for something like that would get the death sentence under Patriot Act or something i'm sure.

    Now just imagine if someone wanted to actually be malicious with this stuff..
    I wonder if a virus with some code to re-partition your drive on a reboot would cause this issue to be taken more seriously.
    I think we're just lucky these writers don't do more with the holes Microsoft gives them.

    True, but how long did that take? What did it take to open people's eyes?
    This should never have happened... it's disgraceful to a country that says it's the bastion of freedom in the west.
    Torture, no due process... sounds like they're becoming the exact thing they're fighting against.

    Thanks for that link though, it does prove that people can actually change what they do not like. I want to see true Americans rise up and live up to their history of protecting their rights. I'm not from here, but i live in Texas so...

    Yes, and almost everyone voted YES on that thing when they were all pissing their pants with fear. It's not a partisan issue, who cares if "your side" voted for it. It's not a good thing and should definitely be held to its sunset clause.

    Nowadays it's not the Gov't that's ruining everything, it's the sheep they herd.

    It just seems like everyone's forgotten what was actually going on with that attack.

    Bin Laden himself said that he wanted to change the way of life for the Americans like they changed it for his people.
    He doesn't care how many people he kills or what building he knocks down.
    If he can make it that Americans live in fear, he wins. I bet he is a very happy little lunatic at the moment.

    And with the "media" whoring themselves out over every story, I'm sure Osama is very in the know.

    Yes but what other country has the might, and the want to use it?
    America spends how many trillions of dollars on the military? And don't think they do it for free, the US will ask favors of those countries, it's kinda like the Godfather.
    Where else do you turn but to the country with a massively powerful army and the need to use it.
    Not China, or Russia (hah!) or even the UK. There is no where else to go.

    The problem is, if i email you something saying how to create a virus and take out networks and they see it went to you. You are now suspicious and since that can be seen as 'terrorist' activity, you can be held without a lawyer, or charges, for an indefinite amount of time.
    Does that sound like America to you? Sounds like the old Mother Russia or the 3rd Reich.
    I'm not even from the US and am so totally against this "ACT". It's terrible that the terrorists have beaten the US of A and they don't even know it.
    Our way of life has changed and we fear anything and everyone now.

    I'm just curious if these Senators realise how useless this is. We don't need to give our Gov't free reign over everything. They can't control the most mediocre of things, much less access to everyone's personal info.
    Example would be CIA agents using gov't credit cards to rack up billions of dollars of debt.
    Yea, we need to give them more power to intrude into our lives.
    It's silly.

    I have to agree on the Falcon games though...they were great. I remember playing Falcon 4.0 and reading all those spec sheets and stuff, it was great.
    Spend like an hour following NAV points on a mission just to blackout during a dogfight by pulling a high angle at like mach 3.

    Good times.

    I'm fully bilingual in French and English and can understand Spanish even though i've had no formal intro. I picked up swedish and Russian and understand some itallian and portuguese.
    I think that if you are bilingual in a romantic language, the rest comes easy.
    I find german hard because of the freakin grammar! Also, Arabic is hard to read and write becuase of the accents and such.
    I checked it out, was a bit much.. not like japanese, that's actually fun to learn.

    I agree with that too. My mother-in-law was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after she gave birth. It may have been there before and never detected but the result was a historectomy. I'm guessing it doesn't protect you from cancer 100% but it can't hurt for sure.
    I imagine the cancer can use the stem cells just as well as good cells can.

    They give the mother a shot that keeps everyone safe. My daughter has my blood type and my wife has a diff blood type.
