    Actually the worst part about those channels is their tendency to repeat the same 3 hours of programming over and over. I'll watch some Discovery channel, go out for a few hours, and come home and it's the same show!

    When I flip thru channels after a long nite out there are many infomercials. They only state that it is a commercial at the beginning and end. I wouldn't consider that disclosure. Disclosure would be a permenant banner on the bottom of the screen.

    I mean, really...how often do you need a hard, immediate power-off? Press the fucking reset bottom to reset it, or just accept the fact that todays computers don't like to have the juice cut unexpectedly.

    Well the coppers have to find out the location of the phone somehow. Likely the request the phone to locate itself and then tell them.

    My Motoral T730 phone has a GPS listing in the options. The GPS setting can be "911 Only" or "Always". It doesn't explain if 'always' means the phone is always emitting or not. Perhaps the phone will only respond to a request for location if you are calling 911 at the time, unless you set it to 'always'.

    Well it kinda is, since devices other than computers can talk FireWire...but essentially this is a useless exersize. The typical fire-wire user wouldn't be able to plug in the thing if there wasn't an arrow...and someone technical enough to need this would likely use an IDE RAID card.

    Oh well...hip-hip-hooray for intellectual masturbation!

    Um...how about this little idea. Store the state information in a database on the server. Pass a unique id string in the URL, and when each page is generated, all links have that unique id so that the server knows who is who.
