Everybody understand and know their own language perfectly. It may or may not coincide with standard English, or whatever the preferred variety of their native language is, but that's beside the point.

When I first came across wikis I thought that they'd be prone to vandalism, but it seems to work well. Anybody know why this is? Does all the good info get backed up? Are there full-time people who patrol it for trolls?

As long as there are more people willing to remove spam and roll back maliciously deleted pages than there are who try to spam and make nuisances of themselves, it will work.

Not really. You have to remember there is no god-given set of "human rights", it's a set of rules set up by a group of people. If those rules say you can't sell this and that software to nasties, then it's a violation of human rights to sell such software to nasties.

The language is, in many places, ambigouous and misleading. The concept of a derived work is not explicitly defined, nor has specific attention been paid to dynamic versus static linking.

The language is defined in copyright law and practice. If you think no specific attention has been paid to linking, where have you been the last 15 years?

The GPL has many bizarre concessions and terms, such as requiring those who distribute GPL software to distribute it by mail at anyone's request, charging only the cost of media.

    No, it does not.

The books aren't very similar, so why should the films be?
