Please keep in mind that RedHat, IBM, MandrakeSoft and Linux International are among those backing the legislation. Make sure that those idiots don't get any of your money.
Besides, I thought that RedHat and IBM had closed source software. Am I wrong?
So basically what you're saying is that MS should reveal the ingredients that make Windows. Something like "We used the C and the assembly programming languages to bring you this OS".
Geez, how come he didn't turn copy protection off? I mean come on, it's not that complicated. Besides, from what I remember, the first time I tried copying music files onto my PC, WMP asked me if I want the content to be protected from now on or not.
how can cars, radios, computers and artwork (liked by women to) be useless? I mean they do something at least. You can get the news from a radio. You can go from one place to another with a car, you can crunch numbers, work, play, interact and do stuff with a computer. But a ring?
Has anyone noticed that women like useless stuff? I mean they love rings, jewelry, fashion, flowers, candles, etc. Stuff that is completely useless yet costs plenty of money. I wish I knew why.
So Open Source couldn't compete with the Allmighty MS so they chose to use the cowards way and try to convince the government to make a law that will force Open Source programs on people. Way to go.
It hasn't occured to any of you that many people don't have broadband and therefore prefer to actually buy the product instead of downloading it for weeks?
I think that many of us are torn between the extreme right (Microsoft, Apple) and the extreme left (Linux). Sorry but we feel like we don't belong in any of them.
It doesn't affect the system, because it doesn't completely remove it. Most components are still there because they are needed for Windows to run properly.
Isn't he the one that said that he'll never touch Win2k? All of a sudden he's using Win2k. In a couple of months, he'll be using WinXP and saying the same things.
So you're admitting that thanks to proprietary software we have more powerfull machines.

They have an opportunity to earn money thanks to stupid patent laws and they try to take advantage of it.
So in short, they're actually selling those PC's only to those who have a pirated version of Windows.
hmmmm, very good point. That way Dell won't have to support the users who install Windows or Linux on there machines. Clever indeed.

What the. That's all my lifes savings.
My karma is maxed out though :) Nah I'm Canadian, haven't worked for MS.
Less freedom? Come on.
One thing I've been consistent with is that I don't like freakin lawsuits. Hey I condemned the MS lawsuit against Lindows.
So Open Source couldn't compete with the Allmighty MS so they chose to use the cowards way and try to convince the government to make a law that will force Open Source programs on people. Way to go.
How about hypocrisy hey?
Nowadays every freakin government passes bad laws. What's up with that?
I have noticed that MS rarely sues, my guess is that they hate lawyers and don't feel like getting involved in dumb lawsuits.
Hope that'll teach companies like HP, Apple, Adobe, etc. another lesson or two.
It hasn't occured to any of you that many people don't have broadband and therefore prefer to actually buy the product instead of downloading it for weeks?
holy cow what happened to Sun? I thought they were trading in the 10.00 something like that.
I think that as a developer you'd prefer to suck customers dry instead of them sucking you dry.
Well hey at least they manage to make a profit with it, unlike our governments who steal plenty of us yet they barely break even.
Afterall Linux is free. Only those who have a slow connection will go out and buy it and also people who are just a little lazy :)
He's not the only one who feels this way.

So what exactly are you complaining about? If you don't like the command line, you don't have to use it, there's a GUI in OS X you know.
What kind of a processor is that and where did they get it? And if so, how many millions will that PS3 cost?
happy BSD user here
