I have a hotmail email address that I don't give out to anyone except my friends. Well so far, after a year of usage I've received less than ten spams.
I also have another hotmail address that I use for absolutely everything, from registering to websites to putting it in my website, etc. Last time I checked I had 470 spams within a month.
If I want Windows to update itself everytime there's a new update, shouldn't I give it remote admin rights? How else will it auto-install?
When I use up2date in RedHat, I need to be looged on as the admin and also be registered with them.
It's funny that people make such a big deal out of licenses. Licenses are written by lawyers for lawyers. Not even the developers had an idea of what it is except for those who like to waste valuable time reading the pages and pages of the licenses.
That's the problem. If you want to bring Linux to the masses, you have to go through all the shit that made Microsoft what it is. Agreements, legal mumbojumbo, lawsuits, big nasty corporations, dumb users, loosers, maniacs, etc.
Softimage may be considered the best but I never heard anyone give praise to its interface.

What makes you say that? From the info about his sourceforge project, it says that it's a command line program, not a GUI.

Oh well not for a weirdo like me. At first I was gonna scroll up to continue reading but then I realised that there's a (more) link and thought that this may lead me to another page but I decided to run my mouse over the link and saw that it actually scrolls up.
Sure it's nice but it required way too much thinking on my part.
Yeah but it's just too damn hard to squash them, there are still many Aqua themes. Microsoft is smart enough to know that they shouldn't play this stupid game.
If Lycoris was an OS X look-alike and not a Windows look-alike, Steve Jobs would be suing the hell outta this company. We all remember the themes stuff don't we?
Sure they may work for less but open source apps are free, and they do pretty much everything I need. Why would I hire any more employees? Besides, my small business isn't in IT.
Just today on much music they talked about a bill that was passed in the US and that Canda will be voting for soon. It was for the right to give the government automatic approval to spy on anyone. Internet, phone, mail, etc.
What are you talking about? Our laws are pretty much a carbon copy of US laws.
If we don't have the DMCA we sure enough have something very similar.
When a bill passes in the US, it comes here afterwards and it always passes, because we're too polite to protest against it and also they make sure to not tell us about it.
What exactly do you want them to do? They can't get rid of the mafia so they had to show the world that they still actually exist and that they're not sitting on their lazy ass all day.
In other news, God has announced that he owns the earth, in fact he goes as far as to claim ownage of the whole universe. So in addition to worshipping him day and night, we're also required to pay him a licensing fee.
If you don't like automatic updates just go with the manual updates. Geez.

That's what I've been saying from the start. I've already switched to BSD.
I'm tired with all those useless and complicated licenses. Why should a developper worry about all that crap?
Here's what I propose as a license
"Do whatever the hell you want with the software but don't sue me."

I'm eating food that even starving people won't eat :) I never thought that day would come.
the thing is, casual users don't give a damn about all that stuff.

Censorship is bad mmmmokay
If the RIAA is allowed to do a DoS attack, I don't see why individuals should be forbidden to do so.
In short: No one should be able to legally commit such a crime.

Here's one about Apple Gamers, it's pretty funny.

Believe it or not, in Canada you're supposed to know every law. You can't say that you had no idea this law even existed.
Crazy but true
That's ridiculous.
Okay so I could've done some tradeoff to. You can give me your password right away or I can shoot you.
It's stupid, since when weren't we entitled to our own opinions? Free speach is just common sense
That's impossible. Maybe you're using Mozilla version 0.01 or something
Okay so I can come to your house and make you give me your password to your bank account. See, I can legally steal from you now.

The first crop circle officially reported I believe it was in 1970.
