I hope that my WiFi router dosn't get taken away. I use it for e-mail all the time and I realy, realy am scared by this patent. Will they be coming after all of us who use WiFi to check e-mail.
While it is realy neat to see that some one is doing things like this I wood seem to me that a standard text interface might be a tad more usable. Why bother using a real memory hog like mozilla when you can use lynx. I supose that some impovreshed people will find it use full but untill it is fully woking (i.e. colure full motion) most people that have low end computers are just going to look for non graphical alternatives.
I the most toxic element of recicling computers isnot dealing with the lead ani flux (by that point the flux is only there in trace amounts. It is the cemicals that are used to wash the boards of all metals. These cemicals are then normaly just pored down the drain.
If the bords in our computers where made instead of whith glass and petrocemicals but with plant fibers and plant based plastics we would be able to by degade them whene they where nolonger usfule. It would simplify the extraction of the presious metals that are in them. No longer would the computer reciling firms in asia nead to us toxic cemicals but instead they could use vibrating screens and magnets .
I just made the at home version from con starch. It's kinda squishy while warm. So, like in the instructions I molded a ball out of it and as it is cooling it is geting bouncy-er. It looks like I made my own super ball.

I have a solution to both the sorce of energy and any posible ozone holes that might hapen. A Solar Chimney can produce wattage compleatly cleanly. Pluss if we bild a realy tall one we can send ozone up it directly. On top of that the taller the chimney is the more power it will produce & the greenhouses an the bass could be used for farming.
It play's media and works as an external hard drive. I don't know about you but being able to have a 40 gig portable that I can watch a movie on seems prity good to me. The add ons are just bonuses.
&:12 Am less than a hundrud coments and the site is slashed. We shoud use a distributed file systum for the web somthinc like freenet but faster. Sinsce at the moment freenet makes it seam as though its 8 years ago and I have a 14.4

The fallowing is not true: Remember, the reason for DVD region codes is so that if a copyright-lawless region started pumping out auathorized copies of the locally available DVDs, those DVDs would be useless in an American Region 1 player. (So, that's the reason why the lawless land that is Antarctica gets its own DVD region...)
Region coding is iplemented to alow price fixing of DVDs. Region coding also to stop people from being able to buy a disk in one region and and sell it in another, where the film is still in theaters..
The big shift es going to come as people start to learn that overlaping WiFi nets can work together. As more and more of the networks grow and conect people are not going to nead the last mile any more. With the advent of new WiFi tech people will have the option to get away from neading to use the telecos lines.
Guys and Dolls its almost Christmas time so lets not forget the presents that we have already given each other. There is blender ( http://www.blender3d.org )an amazing 3d modeling suit and Cinelerra ( http://heroinewarrior.com/index.php3 ) an advanced compositing and editing system like Adobe Premier yet free. On top of that there are a pethora of audio editing programs but that isn't what I deal with at the moment.

I don't know about every one but I take my palm with me to the bathroom and if I had a tablet computer I sure as hell would take it to the bathroom. Eeesh what self respecting techy wouldn't?
I it me or dose this line remind you of the seen in Fight Club Where Tyler is saying:

For as long as I can remember I've alwase thought that this was a cool idea but somthing that I thought would be also realy fun was sailboat cameras. While not as use full they would be tons of fun you would be able to take picutres of your family on the beach, of other boats in Central Park's pund, and for my all time favorite, if you removed the mast you would be able to send your camera on a boad tied to a string down the sewers to take pictures of aligators.

It is also true that only because this is an open sorce project was such code found. People seem to forget that there is no realy eficient way of checking closed software for sevurity holes. Ontop of that companies are more than likly to place back doors in programs as actual features that are not mentioned in documentation, or only glazed over. My exaple for this was in a Busines programe that I wourk with had the "option for you to enter a code into one of the text fields if you set the computers date to a specific date and then you would be able to edit all records, thus by pasing the simple code that it uses. I fould out about the feature when the was a problem with some of the records and since the files are encoed I wasn't going to search through them in any easy way so I cantacted the programes distributor and they told me of this feature. Just think how meany othe progs out there have stuff like that.
I curently studying busines, because it is all good and dandy to know how to write code but if you can only tell a computer what to do how far will you get. By Studing busines a person is opening them serves to the world of better self emploment and the option of posibly maneging thier own sucsefull busines.
Befor going to schooll I hadrun my own web design company for a number of years. Seeing as I had started it just out of highschool I and it hadn't floped over the 4 years of it's life I think I did prity well for my self. Yet at the same time with the new thing that I am lerning about managment, I am realizing that while I was with the company I could have done so mutch more.
If your the type of person who has some interpresonal skill ontop of you computer skills thik about busines.
There is actualy an experiment going on at a university I cant rember where that was providing people with a HUD so that they could se where they where and what buildings where what and so on. Popular Science had and article about it a few months back it was called reality 2.0 i think. Though the article didn't go in to detal about how the scientis where going to get naked bodies to be rendered over the people that you were looking at it did talk about having it so that your comuter would show you a persons name and so on if you had met them before, I ges that would be rather usfull for picking up people in a bar. I mean youv probaly met them before but you dont remember their name or how, luckily your whereing your trusty Viso mack. Now you won't have to worry about being drunk and not knowing who your girl-friend/boy-friend is your computer will tell you.

Un like most of the people ranting about how this man can't get laid and how uncool he is I think that his outfit sound rather cool. From what I understood his clothing is extreamly neat, due to the fact that is probaly has obsesive compulsive disorder. His tools are probably laid rather evenly over most parts of his body that wont be presed up aginst stuff as he goes about his day to day buisines.
I also liked the idea that I got when I heard of the velcro leg pockets. I thought of removable pockets that velcroed on to witchever pants he was going to ware today. For them to work all you would have to do is sew soft velcro patches onto all your pants and then when you got home take of the pockets and that way you don't have to resort your pockets.
If I was going to designe cooltool pants I would just take some strong comphy pants sew velcro on them(the soft fuzzy part), probably as larg patches on the thighs and calves. Then I would find some of that strong synthetic denim stuf that overalls are made of (probaly in black or posibly that realy spiffy blackand white hounds tooth patern), with this fabric I would make my pockets. They would have litle deviders in them so as to seperat all my diferent tools(you know mini renches from philips screw drivers). I might also alow for some sort of modular inter wireing so that I could just plug things into my pants for power and alow sound sent to by shirt where I could have a plug up by my neck for head phones.
