I'm going to go ahead and... uh... disagree with you there...
I'll stick with my password manager thankyouverymuch.
I'm sure 5 years from now Amazon and Google will join forces to help me secure my house by "securely" storing my digitial keys to my house and only unlocking it with my phone making me oh-so-much more secure.
All elections should use human-readable paper ballots by 2020. Such systems are intended to assure voters that their vote was recorded accurately. They also create a lasting record of "voter intent" that can be used for reliable recounts,
Now I agree with this and am happy to move back to paper ballots - But the entire reason we moved away from paper ballots was because of the 2000 elections where Florida used punch cards and political officers kept trying to argue over "partial punches", "dimpled chads" and "dangling chads" where they tried to reassess what the voter's INTENT was.
And, of course, let's not forget magical disappearing and appearing boxes of ballots.
Any system can be hacked but the electronic one is harder to track hacking than the good ol' traditional methods with paper ballots.
lol. What ever happened to a simple "land line"?! (or hard line as it was called in the Matrix...)
Heck some of my friends have started calling their cable internet service (which is absolutely "terrestrial") "wifi" because they have no hard connections to the router.
AT&T has the "bandwidth economy" setting where they "save" you data when you stream videos by downconverting the stream to 480. Is this actual throttling or a side effect of the conversion process?
I was unable to access some of my game saves for Fallout Shelter this morning saying the cloud sync was failing. (and it stupidly deleted the local save)
Well DUH! Golden things are always better and more accurate. Just ask Monster cable whose gold tipped fiber optic cables offered better connectivity!
Platinum is even better. Then black. No wait, that's credit cards...
Wow - thanks for that. For some reason I always thought it was atomic decay they were measuring (Now that I think about it I only recall being taught that the atomic clocks were extremely accurate and nothing about learning about the mechanism itself - maybe I just presumed that or crossed it with carbon dating methods...)
To quote George McFly "I don't do.. confrontations"?!
I'm afflicted with social anxiety so I understand some of the stress here but... c'mon... this is a professional environment not a social function.
I left a 10+ year job and, yes, it was a bit of an effort telling my boss I was leaving because I actually did like him and working there but the new job offer was just too good to pass up.
In any other job the etiquette is clear - write a letter of your resignation with a 2 week notice and give it to your boss. Which is what I did on my first job to a boss and job I hated with a grand smile on my face.
None of Google's 85,000 Employees Have Been Phished in More Than a Year After Company Required Them to Use Physical Security Keys For 2FA
How many of them using 2FA and NOT using physical keys got phished?
Getting phished for the password sure - but who gives out the 2FA code? Even presuming a hacked website I would think the key would just hand over the data to the fake website?
Obviously I'm a grumpy old man (see my UID) but I don't see the point of having a phone that won't easily fit into your pocket and requires a fanny pack. Big screens are great ON TABLETS where I expect to carry them around like a notebook but not on a portable communications device! I like my iPhone6 size
Unless this is some nefarious scheme to get around the bendy iPhone issue. There, see?! It won't fit in your pocket now so you don't have to worry about bending it!
I ran a private email server for the family (not Hillary Clinton) back in the late 90s - early 00s and was constantly being probed to try to crack the SMTP password. Had one guy make about one attempt every minute with a new password from some stock dictionary of common passwords. I wasn't concerned about anyone figuring that out (it was a large password) but finally threw in the towel after somebody spoofed one of the email addresses and sent out a ton of spam on behalf of it and I ended up on some black lists.
It's worth $12/year just to let my registrar handle it now!
And that third only runs Windows 10 because it's a Surface Pro and doesn't support 7.
I have no intention of upgrading the other systems and normally I've almost always upgraded to the next version of Windows within a year or two of release from as far back as Windows 95! (skipping only Vista) That stopped with Windows 8 which I thought would be another skip one like Vista - but with all the spyware/auto-updating and just downright oddness of Windows 10 where I'm a spectator to my own computer -Nah, I'll stick on Windows 7 until I absolutely have to and maybe not even then.
When you have to "go to the people" for your brand. "What is a good brand for us because people don't understand what it is I'm doing". That's a sure sign that YOU have no idea what your business is doing.
WTF are you doing? You've spent the last few years destroying Firefox to "make it better" by removing popular and time tested features (because they're too hard to maintain) then adding features no one wants or asked for (but now you want to ask them about branding) while baking ads into the browser all the while claiming you're "saving the internet"
You're a ship without a rudder and obviously have no tech vision of your own. THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM.
Yeesh, can you imagine Steve Jobs asking "What is a good vision for my company"?
There's a great many developers that still do work on LANs without cloud based systems junior. I worked on embedded platforms until a few years ago and even though the dev team is spread out over several countries that team STILL uses Subversion and an in-house bug tracking system.
fingerprint, voiceprint, face rec, retina scans ANYTHING of that nature from now into the future that can be used to personally ID you - none of that data should be stored or sold.

if you took out all the damn javascript!

Same here - didn't realize this INCLUDES the box and was trying to figure out why I would pay more for the same game subscriptions on an X vs an S

Atlassian is pretty big in the cloud development space for bitbucket (as a Github competitor) and their Jira web based tracking system.
