Very cheap mini-computers with a PowerPC CPU running at 50MHz and all of 16MB of RAM. Damn, my Palm Tungsten has about 10x more processing power than that.
My Panasonic RTV2000 gets updates on a regular basis. The listings could be more accurate (it usually cuts the last 30 seconds or so of each program) but they're still going strong. AFAIK DirecTV owns what's left of RTV now.
To answer your title question: house prices are a lot more affordable here than in many neighboring states like CT, NY, MA. No income tax/sales tax either.
According to the wikipedia article on the 6502, it is still manufactured for embedded systems. Thus the diffusion masks must still exist. In which case the design hasn't been "lost"
Not necessarily. You'll get a functional device in that case yes, but whenever USB enters a new major revision they've had to tack on a new chip to the mix. And there's no guarantee that the new chip will be completely compatible in terms of protocol with the older ones. In fact I'd suggest that they aren't compatible otherwise they wouldn't need a separate chip for it.
So, wait. How do you get a functional device if the interface chip is incompatible? You lost me there. Either they communicate effectively, and the device is functional, or they don't (and it isn't).
Correct. Government: "We have all the time and manpower we need. After all we're paid by...*drumroll*... YOU!"
I pity the fool who doesn't understand this.
I recently did the following. On an old laptop I installed Windows 95. Then IE4 and Netscape Communicator 4.08
I couldn't browse anything. I mean, not even microsoft.com.
I have 2 gmail accounts. One for each personality.

As for me, chalk another line on the list of "reasons why I don't develop for iOS"
I guess there may be programmers desperate enough who don't have a choice. I'm just happy I'm not one of them.

what you think as left there is WAY too much to the right of anything that is considered left in any other part of the world
Perhaps you're right. Or perhaps the rest of the world is way too much to the left. Have you ever thought about that? It's a matter of perspective.
Yet when I presented my "Bring Genghis Khan Back" idea at Kyoto, they threw me out of the building.
Who's laughing now, huh?
Second that. Fortunately my wife gets all of her Lush stuff in brick-and-mortar stores, not online.

Either that, or the wikipedia article is wrong.
Acceptable risk, though, considering the gravity of the situation.
Sorry. Wrong answer. Thanks for playing.
She is probably trying to help her son, but in the process she is harming other children.
I think The Inquisition was truly trying to help mankind, too. Or at least they thought they did.
Or, better yet, ask for the kosher meal. It's better than the vegetarian one.
I lived in NYC for about 10 years, and not many people I know did. It's mostly a Big Media thing.
So what happened to the other 512?
Are they on a private network?
Hey! You leave MacGyver alone! :)
But what if there's nothing worth watching?
Sorry, kid. You're 20 years too late.
I really need some ladybugs!
Now we know what happened to Azeroth...
Mod up. The end users are already paying Comcast for the bandwidth. Why should anyone else do it again?
I guess Palin is jealous on him for having "blood on his hands” while she doesn't. I further guess she's doing all she can to change that.
It is a mere application of the FUD principle.

Apparently reading comprehension isn't a prerequisite for holding a senator's office.
